-DOYA: A brand new day-
A/N: All the usual disclaimers
Oya
rolled on her side and gently leaned her head against Dean's chest.
She let her fingers run over his chest, drawing invisible arabesques
on his warm skin while she looked at him with an intense hazel gaze.
He wasn't sleeping that morning, already awake because of a nightmare
he had that night. He wasn't sleeping because the mere thought of
losing her, plagued the hunter. After all this time, why would Oya
stay? Dean survived last Thanksgiving, he survived last Christmas and
even survived Oya not being around for several weeks. However, the
idea of being alone still haunted him and he still couldn't sleep
knowing she would some morning wake up and decide she didn't want to
be with him. There would be plenty of reasons for her to leave him, one
of these would be his tendency to sacrifice himself for the greater
good. ». He had done it lately, nearly sacrificed his life to
protect humanity and they had a long conversation about how and why
she refused to let him do this very thing.
Ever
since Dean had the same recurring nightmare. Oya was leaving him
because she couldn't « take it anymore ». He could barely
admit that waking up to her soothed his heart. She stayed with him
and made this decision every single day. Dean let his fingers run
through her hair. He gently pressed his lips to her forehead. She let
her hand brush over his toned belly and looked at the ceiling of
their room. Her head was filled with their conversation and the
fact she nearly lost him. She was afraid and she felt her heart
nearly broke when she thought he would go through with his plan.
Fortunately for them, he didn't and instead decided to talk to her.
Yes... talk. He wasn't given much choice anyway, Oya being Oya, she
started the conversation and refused to stop until they talked about
the elephant in the room. It didn't take long before she managed to
make Dean speak his mind. They weren't good with words, but that
night they talked like they never did before. Both opened their
hearts and allowed the other to see just how desperate they were not
to lose the other.
He
gently stroked her hair, losing his fingers into her thick black
locks and massaged her scalp. Her hazel eyes studied his tense
features. He wanted to comfort her but he wasn't relaxed, so
she pushed herself a little further up and leaned onto her left arm.
Her other hand stroked his cheek and she smiled at him. She wanted to
focus on the good thing they had. He was there. She was there and
that was all that mattered. She rubbed her nose against his and
pressed her lips to his as gently as she could. His emerald eyes
glanced at her and his free hand cupped her cheek. Her heart was
racing, just as it did when she realized she grew attached to him for
the very first time. Her smile eased her features as she could see
how he felt by the way he was looking at her. His concerned and
troubled mind was soothed because she was with him and her warm
body. The first thing he saw when he looked at her was the smile she
had on her lips. His heart beat faster and a soft smile crept on
his lips since hers was so infectious. It was a new day and she was
by his side, as she said she would always be.
What more could he ask for?
