COPG: hesitation

Elpis' golden eyes averted from the ceiling to the balcony. There was a lot that happened since Pride gave her the ring that allowed her to roam the Earth freely. For a long time, which probably was several human years, they went from one place to another, using Pride's magic to shield her from her pantheon and the ever-present eyes of her sister Ayasha, the primeval goddess of knowledge. For such a long time she was restricted in her movement!  While it allowed her to recover from the immense damage her curse inflicted on her, Elpis' mental health was rapidly declining. She hated being confined and had awful flashbacks of her time sealed within human hosts for two millennia. That couldn't continue and Pride managed to circumvent their restrictions to grant her freedom.

There was a lot to think about and a lot to do. She received a scythe he forged for her. She received a ring that allowed her to go wherever she wanted and truly test her newfound powers. Of course, she wanted to train and tap into that energy inside her that had been kept a secret by her whole pantheon. She wanted to stretch her legs and fight monsters and smaller gods alike just to see what she could do and hone her skills. Another part of her wanted to settle a score and go back to visit the surviving gods from the Sins' rampage. She remembered a slight from millennia ago by one of these goddesses. She remembered how dismissive Loki had been of her and wanted to visit the Northen God for petty revenge. Another part of her wanted to focus on her mother, on harnessing her power and overthrowing the All-mother. How tempting, how deliciously tempting. She had the choice now and for the first time in ages, it left her perplexed and indecisive.  What to do? What to start with?

Despite everything she claimed to her beloved Sin, there was one thing that was lingering underneath all that bubbling anger. Once her revenge would be enacted, what of her? The idea that she would wipe her whole pantheon and would be left without any family member alive sent shivers down her spine. could she truly pull something like this? Could she really be the reason she would lose everything? Elpis needed revenge and she wanted the blood of those who betrayed her. The only siblings who actually cared for her, died once they uncovered the truth, so why was she hesitating still?  Did it scare her that much to be on her own with Pride? Did it scare her so much to be so dependent on him? Deep down, she trusted him. She just never had to make a decision this big before.  Annoyed at her own heart for being so weak, the goddess of Light and Hope sat on her bed. Her decision has been made and truth be told, it had been made for her millennia ago. She would wipe out her pantheon because they tried to kill her for choosing Pride. She would do it and relish hearing their screams. She had to, for her fallen siblings, for herself, for Pride, and for her future. She had to and she will!
