Klasma trivia : necromancy // Body puppetry

What sets Nëela apart from other witches is the fact she can practice Necromancy. Well, she's still learning it but obviously has already mastered the body puppetry spell. It allows her to manipulate the body of the deceased as she sees fit. Usually, she manipulates them for defense or attack. She used this ability during her rescue of Klaus Mikaelson and manipulated the bodies of hybrids and witches alike to kill and protect herself from other witches and hybrids. Of course, the more bodies she manipulates, the more exhausting it becomes and it requires a lot of concentration. She's working on a way to make it more efficient and give a certain level of autonomy to the bodies she manipulates to turn them akin to Golems.

Nëela isn't against learning more and has dabbled to the darkest side of her magic. She also took the abilities and expertise of the witches whose souls were used to curse her. That explains why she's so powerful and well-versed in elemental magic as well as the fundamental spells. Because she studies a lot and worships Hecate, the patron saint of the occult, she can anchor herself a little more to the magic world and prevent those who are not aware or familiar with Hecate from cutting her access to magic.  The witch, if she wanted, could be a threat to all living beings but her strong desire to help others make her a formidable ally rather than a nightmarish foe.

Elijah is fully aware of her potential to be even more powerful and has always brought her some new spellbooks or magical artifacts he found so she could study them, learn from them, and add them to her already impressive magical knowledge. When she's losing control of her magic, telekinesis is the first skill that manifests itself and after an intense conversation with Freya, it became clear that it was a way for her subconscious to both protect her and attack whatever caused her emotional distress. (While being aware doesn't change anything about the loss of control, it does help Nëela to know herself better and practice her magic as safely for her and others as possible.)
