After her bath, Lux dressed back up and sat on the bed in her hotel room. She had to gather her thoughts to know exactly what her next move would be. Despite what Dalmas Stejic said, she could not fully accept that Roustain was the Elder who was not dead. She did not reject the idea, but she needed more evidence of his survival than a couple of letters written by his trusted people and passed down to the Hermit vampire. One true thing, however, was the fact that there was an elder vampire on the loose and one who might destroy the vampire society as she knew it. Lux could not care less about the fate of those who rejected her - Or so she thought-as long as her father and brother were safe.
She was determined to let them know the result of her investigation and to urge them to leave the vampire society while they still could. She had to share the information with them as soon as possible, even if that meant she would have to investigate further and bring solid evidence of her theory for them to believe. Lux thought that she could not waste any more time. She could tell Aurelius about Frederic Roustain having spies on her, about her meeting with Dalmas Stejic, and about the fact that the skull exposed at Frederic's mausoleum was of a more recent type of vampire, which at least indicated that it wasn't Roustain's skull. She would talk him through her reasoning in hopes that he would be receptive to what she was saying.
" And what do I do with Jake? I need to see him again." -She surprised herself by claiming it out loud- " Dumbass, it's dangerous for him. I know he is a hunter, but still... I can't possibly want to bring him to my family..."
She blushed. What would be the reason she would take Jake to meet with her father and brother? She thought it was swift, compared to how things had gone with her late lover; she hadn't even waited as long this time with Jake. She desperately needed him to meet with her family and to have them approve of him. Somehow, it could have a lot to do with Lux feeling that if she did not do it, she was missing something. She would not have the opportunity to do it again. Maybe, deep down, it was the way her heart was telling her that she was falling for Jake, and she was certain he was the right one. How could she be so sure when they did not see the worst of each other? The redhead bit her bottom lip and furrowed her brows. Yeah, how could she be so sure that Jake was-- wait, why would she even think he was the right one? Sure, they hooked up, they had great chemistry, but wasn't it all just sex? What could possibly attract her to him besides his impressive physique and his addictive blood?
Who was she kidding? Lux enjoyed spending time with him, whether or not they had sex. She loved to be in his arms; she loved it when they cuddled before falling asleep. She loved the way he lightly snored when he was sleeping and the way his chest heaved up and down when he was calm. She loved his sense of humour and genuinely laughed when they were together. She could be herself, without having to change who she was. He embraced it all, the claws and tail and fangs. He embraced her completely. She also knew that there was a darkness inside him, a pain they never spoke of but was ever present in him. She recognized it because she was the same. He was laid back and cool, but sometimes his face was dark. Sometimes she saw the tears he could not cry anymore on the stigmata worn by his body. She knew that he was hurting inside, and while she could not fully grasp what exactly was plaguing his soul, she could tell he was in pain. She recognized it because she was the same.
She bit her thumb and furrowed her brows harder. The vampire wanted to see the human again, and she wanted to find some comfort. Deep down, Lux wanted to have someone who could comfort her. Yes, she wanted to be comforted. She wanted to have some support because she was exhausted. She felt that she could trust her special human, and he would be there for her. Why did she trust him? She could not find an explanation, but she knew that she trusted him with her life. He embraced her true nature without flinching and seemed to seek her company. So yes, it felt natural for her to seek his company. It felt natural for her to want to see him and to take him to meet her family. So she grabbed her phone and texted Jake.
[Text: Puppy] "I want to see you again, puppy. I need to see you TBH. I need your cuddles and to talk. I am in Montana right now, so tell me where you are and we can meet halfway."
