GOT! Modern: 3 is a charm
The family wasn’t exactly what you could call Healthy, each and everyone of
them had to deal with personal issues and a need for growth. They could play
pretend in public, plaster a fake smile there, hold each other’s shoulders here
but they never actively worked towards healing. No. they were just unable to do
so right now. So the three of them lived separate lives. Since the Highgarden “incident”,
there had been some changes. Bäahal stood up to Daenerys, pushing against her very
controlling nature with sharp words and although she had earned a slap in the
face, she felt good about it. She pushed back and forced her sister to
reconsider her behaviour.
Yes, the sublime Targaryen realized
that she went too far, and she couldn’t exactly pretend that nothing happened. So,
while she put some distance between her sister and herself, she also tried to
make amends with her. -baby steps- This prompted her to give Bäahal more
freedom to do as she pleased and was taken as an opportunity for Dany to focus
on herself. Spending time with the family dogs, and horses brought some smiles
on the stern face of the Targaryen. She even entertained the idea of looking
for another dog, not because she wanted to replace Viserion, but because she
needed to focus her attention on caring about something else than the family
and a new puppy seemed like a good investment. That was when she met Jon Snow. The meeting left
her an after taste that haunted her to this day. She was struggling, however,
with acknowledging that he caught her eye while also acknowledging it wasn’t
betraying her late husband. But it was something, a beginning.
Viserys was also doing much better, Bäahal thought. He had been sobered for
the longest time ever since he started rehab. He was healthier, even more
durable. She noticed he was even using the family gym and opted to not focus on
her when she used it to practice in her private room. The tension was still
palatable between the two of them and she was still careful not to drop her
guard because he was still unpredictable, and she didn’t want to make him angry
at all. Bäahal didn’t know, but Viserys was a changed man. He had discovered
love in the arms of the sublime Kyra Lannister and this love, was benefiting him
in the long run. Although he was still a man whose presence alone would make others
hold their breaths, and whose behaviour was still causing nightmares to others,
Viserys wasn’t as brutal as he used to be. He realized that he was angry,
mostly at his dad for what he did to the family, but always at the death of his
older brother that he never visited once he was put six feet under. He realized
that he didn’t need to always be cruel, to experience something different,
better: love. The void in his heart was slowly getting filled up with the
warmth of his beloved and he had a second chance at love. One he didn’t want to
mess up with. So, he was making progress. It was still the beginning, but at
least now he had a purpose. He wasn’t the man who was gambling with his life
anymore but one who could actually build something instead of destroying it. He
was in some sort of honeymoon, which made him forget about the terrible people
who populated his life, the likes of Angel, the likes of his ex-partners.. the
drug-filled universe he was tyring to escape now. All that mattered to him was
Kyra.
Bäahal finally, was also happy. Yes, Jaime hated to hear what happened at
Highgarden with Bronn. He hated to stand by and hear a man tell him how many ways
he would have fucked her, without saying anything. He hated that Bäahal was
still afraid of her family and she had troubles understanding why he was pissed
off, everyone around her was considering it, “the norm” since she was an
outsider. Everyone around her, didn’t mind the abuse, because she wasn’t supposed
to be part of this world and yet she was. Everyone but Jaime -and Later on
Kyra- was upset at the sight of it. He cared for her, always had ever since
they met and she now realized that he was actually very invested in their
relationship whatever that was. It had her realize that she was falling in love
with him without even trying. She was drawn to him, she was thinking of him
when they were apart from one another, they were having fun together and she
wanted those moments back. Yes, he was angry, but he was because he cared and yes,
she was upset and could remember how hot her head was due to her blushing out of
shame and fear once he was done lecturing her. She cared too. She cared about
what he thought of her, how he perceived her, if he wanted to stay in her life
for more -or forever-. She cared, she cared a great deal about him and had
already noticed the changes in her life, behaviour and desires. Jaime was a
good thing, maybe the best thing to ever happen to her and she wanted him to
know that.
Now now, the 3 of them were at turning points in their lives and perhaps
that was for the best. Only time would tell if they would finally make moves
towards the right direction and mend their relationships or if it was too late
for either of them to actually become a family.
