Chronicles of Lux and Tenebrae : What now ?

A/N: just continuing with these two lovebirds.

xxxxxxxx

Lux had been sleeping since Tenebrae took her to his lair on Earth: The Fortress. It was a very secure place on Earth, imbued with his own energy, which, needless to say, was almost on par with his father's, if not more powerful than him. Tenebrae knew that whoever was after Lux and Life, would not be able to find Life's daughter, at least, not as long as she was with him. That didn't take away his concerns about the whole situation. Life was very powerful, he trusted she would not die. If she did, then it would be the beginning of the end. All living things would die, Earth would wither, too many souls would fill the End realm and who knew what else could happen? A balance was achieved by the presence of life and death, destroying life would just about bring the apocalypse and nobody wanted it, at least, not in Tenebrae's mind.

He found his beloved, but her not being able to remember him was bothering the prince more than he cared to admit. It hurt him to look into her eyes and not see the love that once was there. It hurt him to look at her and think that someone tried to kill her and apparently, succeeded in doing so and he wasn't there to protect her. He wasn't there. He resented his father even more since Death held him back and prevented him from visiting Lux. Why would he -and Live by extension- refuse that the two lovebirds saw each other? Tenebrae did notice the sparkles when he touched Lux. It only added to the pleasure he had by being by her side and she saw it as the physical manifestation of their love but he knew that there was more to it than just sparkles. The keeper of secrets had the answer to that, but like any magical creature of such a magnitude, to benefit from his knowledge came with a price. He could only ask one question. Tenebrae intended to ask how to defeat Death itself but if he did, then he would never be able to know why Lux and he couldn't be together like their parents suggested. Yet, what if that question was trivial and not meaningful, why would he waste an opportunity to become king?

His jet black eyes stared at the sleeping form in his arms. Lux refused to be left alone, now that she had found someone familiar with extraordinary powers like hers and who knew who she was, she refused to leave his side. Exhausted mentally from her centuries-long wandering, she simply fell asleep for days. Tenebrae didn't flinch a muscle for he didn't want to wake her up but he did command his minions to give him information about his father's whereabouts. He discovered that Death had visited Life in the realm of all beginnings and was trying to understand what happened to her and who attacked her. Tenebrae sighed in relief that his father didn't search for him but several weeks after he locked himself in his lair, one of his minions came and through him, Death spoke.

« My son. » Tenebrae narrowed his gaze, his jaw was clenched and he protectively held Lux against his chest. « I see that you found Lux. »

« She is staying with me, father. There is no way I would return her to a compromised place. » He declared, his black pools staring at the avatar of his father.

« I am not asking you to take her back to the Realm of all beginnings. Like you said, it's compromised. »

« Then, why are you using my minions as avatars? » He snapped at him, stroking the long black locks of his sleeping beloved.

« I understand that you are angry. »

« Angry doesn't begin to cover how I feel about you, /father/. » Tenebrae said. « We could have helped them if you didn't decide to lock me in the End Realm. We could have saved them if you and Life didn't have your stupid separation rul-- »

«Enough! I am not here to argue with you. I'd rather have you listen to me, Tenebrae. » His voice boomed, making the walls tremble and shake and Tenebrae, despite showing some bravado in his attitude shook as well. He felt fear sink into him and into the cracks of his bones and it humbled the prince who nodded quietly in submission. « You're finally reasonable. »

« What do you want to say, Father. »

« I wanted to warn you. I am investigating on who would try to attack Life and why. I have an idea but I need to confirm it. Until I have confirmation of the identity of who's behind the attack, you have to be very careful. They would come after Lux in order to destroy her... »

« I will protect her until she's fully recovered and can defend herself. » Tenebrae said, narrowing his eyes, a hint of warning in his voice as he believed his father would ask him to stay away from the deity.

« I was about to say you have to protect her. I do not know where you get the belief I do not care about you or do not love you, but I do. I love you, son. »

Tenebrae chose not to reply to his father and instead looked at Lux who kept on sleeping. He sighed and leaned into his chair. Deities like him, Lux, Death or Life didn't need to sustain themselves to survive. Unlike humans who needed to eat, drink and sleep in order to remain functional. However, when they were critically wounded and needed to recover, sleep became necessary. Like Odin who would enter Odin's sleep, deities needed to regenerate. Lux was reborn, hence why she needed her sleep to fully recover and regain the level of power she had prior to her death and until she achieved it, Tenebrae would keep an eye on her and keep her safe. However, he needed to do something, staying in his lair wasn't helping either of them. It wasn't even helping him find answers to questions he kept asking himself. His father was vague, as usual when talking to him, which annoyed the prince more than anything else.

« We will see each other soon. » Death said as left the minion. Tenebrae shrugged his shoulders and looked back at the sleeping Lux in his arms. He lost his powder snow fingers into her black locks and furrowed his brows.

Could he keep her safe? Could he make sure nothing will happen to her? There would be a moment both would leave the safety of his Fortress and would venture into the vast world. He hoped she would remember him and recover fully by the time they found the Keeper of Secrets. His thoughts were interrupted when he heard her groan and shift on top of him. She was waking up, which would inform him in her state of mind and her current condition. Maybe she would wake up with her memories restored and he wouldn't have to worry the way he was. Maybe she wouldn't and he would need to assume the rĂ´le of the protector until she was back to being herself again. She opened her eyes, slowly getting used to the darkness of the place before her hand, warm and soft, cupped his alabaster cheek and stroked it. For a while, they didn't say anything but she whispered.

« Thank you for allowing me to sleep. »

Her eyes still lacked the love they had in them before the attack, which informed the prince that she still didn't remember him. He furrowed his brows, his face becoming even paler than it used to and his black pools slowly turning back into black orbs that stared at her silver ones. He leaned into her touch and nodded quietly.

« It was the least I could do. I know this is a lot for you to digest...and you might still not remember who you are but we don't have the luxury of time and we would need to leave soon. »

« To get answers? » She asked, her voice still heavy from the sleep she'd just emerged from. He nodded. « Fine. I have a feeling I will remember soon. »

« It would be for the best if you did. I am looking forward to seeing it happen.. » He said, trying to sound reassuring but failing to do so. She could feel how worried he was, and instinctively stroked his cheek some more.

« I will remember. You wouldn't need to worry like you do now, Tenebrae. » Her voice was reassuring and without her realizing it, a soft glow came from her hands and soothed his worries.

« I will always worry, Lux... Always... » He gave her a tight smile and then watched as she shifted on him and sat on his lap, her hands on his thighs. « Always... »

Max and Phoenix :The end

A/ N: This is the final chapter of their storyline. I had so much fun crafting their common past. I hope you enjoyed the ride as much as I did.

Xxxxx

Max didn't come back. He couldn't possibly come back to Phoenix after he nearly killed her. The whole moment was nauseating. He tried to convince her to leave his side and not participate in his vendetta and she ended up saying things that made him angry. The assassin hurt him with her dismissal of his personal tragedy and he couldn't contain himself anymore. He wanted to silence her, make her pay for insulting him and killing her came to mind. She looked at him, ready to die by his hand but the defiance in her eyes snapped him back to reality. Max couldn't do it, he refused to kill her so he left the motel room.

Phoenix chose to stay in that room and used her goggles to spy on the compound that was a couple miles away. Max and she decided that the best moment to attack Cesare and his men was the night, so she spent the day eating burgers and thinking of last night event and what it truly meant to her. She went too far, she was aware of that. Nobody in their right minds would accept the verbal abuse she forced on Max last night. She could have driven the point differential and was now wishing she had done that instead of trying to dismiss the man's pain. He lost his family and his pain was still very real, very palatable and she stomped on their memories without any regards to them or how it would make him feel. Then, he did try to kill her and she welcomed it without a fight.

Her neck recovered from his strangling. She still had the marks of his fingers on her skin but she didn't mind much. Those would heal but the damage she inflicted on Max would not wear off. As she was laying on the bed, waiting for the moment to move, Phoenix leaned her head against the headset of the bed, clenching her fingers at the thought of her behavior. Yes, she acted that way because she felt insulted that he tried to save her. Phoenix felt she was beyond redemption and always told him so. She had blood on her hands and while she didn't regret taking the lives of the crooked and criminals, she did have some serious regret about taking the lives of innocent victims. All the people she had killed regardless of their age and gender.. all those people who shouldn't have been dead were dead by her fault, their blood was on her hands, so dying in itself wasn't such a bad idea. She tried to take her life so many times since she wiped out the organization that turned her into this monster to being with. She tried, so what was one more try?

Her eyes closed as she leaned her head a little harder against the headset. Max was special. He was opening up to her just like she was to him. He went past her defenses and got close to her in ways many people couldn't. She let her fingers run over her plump lips, remembering the taste of his when he kissed her. Her eyes opened and she realized that her heart was aching at the thought as well. Phoenix felt her heartbeats get faster at the thought that maybe, just maybe she actually cared about Max more than she wanted to admit. Her eyes started to look from left to right and she cursed under her breath. «Shit! Shit! It's not true! » It wasn't ! she wasn't attached to Max! It couldn't be! She put her feet on the floor and pushed herself at the edge of the bed, her eyes were still wide open at the realization that actually yes, she did care about Max a lot more than she pretended to. Him leaving, not sending a text or giving her a call was more stressful than tonight's mission. Him leaving felt like a loss, it felt like losing Phaser the first time around and she hated that feeling.

She kept cursing under her breath and felt tears fill her eyes. Why was she like this? Why did she have to push him away after all that happened between the two of them? Did that mean she was beyond repair? Did that mean she was unable to actually build a life for herself? A life she could be satisfied with? What did Max have to do with her ability to find happiness? She couldn't breathe.. she started to take deep breaths and looked left and right, unfocused, unable to stop. Her heart started to beat faster and she ended up screaming. She held fists of honey hair in both hands and started to cry. It was indeed a loss, Max left to never return because she pushed him way too much, way too hard. How could she do something like that to him? Her tears kept rolling on her cheeks, warm, bitter like her heart at the thought that maybe, just maybe, she did actively sabotage herself.

Deep down, she knew that sticking by Max was her way to tell him that she cared for him and wanted to give him the support she thought he needed. Neither of them was good with emotional support, neither of them could give the other what they truly needed. Max needed to snap out of his vendetta before it killed him for good. He needed to give himself a fresh start and mourn for his family's loss. He should have but he couldn't. He allowed anger and despair to take over him, hence why he decided to avenge his family but with his body that dropped on his wake, he sunk further into his pit of darkness with no possibility to get better He was destroying himself but there still was a sliver of hope and he found it in Phoenix. She understood him, she was as broken as he was and yet, she was still trying to do the right thing. He felt guilty, for a brief moment, when he asked her to come with him when she wanted to stay in Boston. She had started to turn on a new leaf, saving lives rather than taking them and he took her with him in his spiral of darkness. He had her kill people again and pushed her in this path. He did that.

But she made him smile again. She made him laugh again. She made life better for him and it scared Max. It scared him because when he looked into Phoenix eyes, he saw a potential future. He saw himself outgrow his vendetta and actually invest in the future, believes in the future and that couldn't happen. It felt like betraying his family and himself. So he had to distance himself from her, push her away so she would return to a better life and to having a shot at redeeming herself by doing good.It didn't work, obviously but it wasn't just because of the way he said it, or the moment he chose to say it. It also didn't work because of her dire need to die and pay for her crimes. Part of him believed that she did it on purpose, rile him up so he could kill her. Better die by the hand of the one you love than one you hate, right? Right? Wait...Did he just assume she loved him? Or did he know already? Max couldn't say. He felt it, the connection between the two of them and the ways she looked at him, talked to him, touched him. He could tell she was attached by the way she kissed him, the way she said his name... They never had sex, they never went as far as a couple of kisses because she still had issues with being touched but they didn't need that to establish how attached they were to one another. They were. He was and coming to realize that he nearly killed her horrified Max. It made him think, it made him leave.

Standing in a room filled with broken pieces of furniture and in tears, Phoenix looked at the compound where Cesare had been hiding and glanced at her watch. It soon was the time she and Max chose to start their assault on Cesare. She cleaned her face with the back of her hand, vowing to herself that she would still carry Max' mission and eventually would meet him there. He wanted answers Cesare had so it made sense he would still go there and kill the man himself after he took the information he needed. She wore her white spandex suit she was infamous for, started to gear up and when she was ready, she looked through the goggles one last time and noticed suspicious movements towards the compound. Intrigued, she left the motel room and went on the rooftop where she would have a better view of what was happening and would have an easier access to the compound without being seen. She heard gunshots on her way to the rooftop and started to run to get there faster. What sounded like an actual raid gone wild. Once on the rooftop, she used her goggles to have a better view of what was happening and noticed FBI vans. She blinked and knelt on the floor as she realized that the feds were called in. Max called them, otherwise, they wouldn't be attacking at the same time the two of them agreed on.

Why did he do that? She sat on the floor, coming to the realization that her journey was abruptly stopped there. She couldn't go further with Max, he wouldn't be back. She couldn't help herself but sob, hard. Her tears kept rolling down her eyes as she realized that this was it. It was over. All she could do now was to move forward and think for herself once again. She would have to come back to the life she left in Boston, helping people again now that her appetite for Death and Destruction was sated for the moment.

«Damnit! Damnit, Max! What did you fucking do? »

She kept repeating, running her hand through her hair. What did he do? Did he actually save her life? Max liked to think he did. It became obvious that the only thing he could do to prevent Phoenix from wasting her life would be to tip the feds on Cesare's whereabouts. They would come and stop Phoenix from actually dying. He wouldn't need to physically be there when that would happen, although he actually did. Because he wanted to make sure she would not be stubborn and actively get herself killed. He hid well, on the rooftop of the building next to the compound and watched a distraught Phoenix, cry out of anger and confusion. He didn't expect her to nor did he enjoy it, but at least she was alive and she didn't try to stop Cesare by herself. At least she was alive and she would return to her old life. He watched as she kept cursing him and cry ugly and watched as she calmed down and just sat there in silence. Allowing Cesare to actually escape from him -he got arrested which at least gave Max a possibility to visit him later on and question him- and be handed out to a system he didn't believe in, was Max' way to actually move forward, try and not let the abyss suck him in. It was a tiny step forward but at this point in his life, he would have taken anything.

« We'll meet again Phoenix. » -He whispered to himself, turning on his heels and leaving the rooftop as he was now certain she survived the night. -

It was the end of their adventure together and both knew that despite taking different paths and being deprived of one another, they both gained something. He did, he found Hope again. He saw a glimpse of what his life could be, once he got his revenge and Max knew he would hold onto that thought. He would hold onto the idea of finding Phoenix again and building something with her. Someday...Maybe. She gained something too. She found parts of herself, of the woman she truly was. With Max she wasn't a fake identity, she wasn't pretending. She was herself, her true self and he unknowingly helped her accept that part of her life, at least, helped her begin to. With Max, she started to have Hope, yes, Hope for a better life. Hope for redemption. She considered a life by his side, something new and sweet with someone who understood and didn't judge her. It felt like a dream but she intended to go back to Boston and work hard to make sure it became true.

But was it an end?

Max and Phoenix: The night before the carnage.

A/N: All usual disclaimers! everything BUT Max belongs to me. Max belongs to a friend. A bit graphics.

xxx xxx

Weeks went by since Kara Morgan's rescue. Kara herself survived her OD and recovered enough to become a key witness in Cesare Marconi's traffic. She knew everything and started to cooperate with the Feds in order to stop the new drug's traffic and take it off of the streets. She also worked closely with the FBI to track Cesare and put him away for good. Phoenix recovered as well, quite fast given Max excellent stitching skills. She was quickly able to help Max in many ways like before, including fighting off and wiping out mob circles. Now that she saved a life, she had no qualms about killing again. Max and she worked tirelessly and after months of chasing down Cesare -who was pushed away by the feds- they finally located him. He was hiding in a small motel complex at the border with Mexico. He was planning to cross the border during the night and escape from the FBI.

It was going to be a stand-off, a pure carnage. Max was determined to kill this son of a bitch but he knew that the feds might have been tipped off too and might intervene.
Phoenix found him near the window, a cigar in his mouth as he was trying to smoke his frustration off. She had cleaned her guns and knives but paused in order to talk to him. His blue eyes looked at her, hard, empty and tired. Ever since he began his vendetta against the people who killed his family, Max never really stopped. He kept looking for clues and leads and was burning his whole life on each side of it. She tilted her head to the side and put her hand on his shoulder. He shrugged and wrapped his larger hand around her slender one. His leaned into her touch, his head rubbing softly against her arm. She planted a kiss on top of his head.

« Are you sure about tomorrow? » -He shrugged and shook his head-

« Not really. » -She crouched and looked up to his face. Her hand cupped his cheek and gently stroked it.-

« Talk to me. »

They could still cancel it. Tomorrow didn't need to happen.Max didn't have to die. It was a risk to take, of course, him getting killed in order to avenge his family and him taking so many risks just to have a piece of information about the murder of his family. What if Cesare didn't give it to him? He could very much keep his mouth shut and all of this would have been for nothing. Phoenix was aware of that element and she mentioned it to Max a while ago. He decided to keep going despite knowing there was a risk he didn't get what he wanted but now that it was close, His perspective changed. His worn out blue eyes looked at her and his large hand cupped her soft cheek.

« We might die tomorrow. » It was a declaration, it unphased her and she lifted a brow.

«So? »

« Are you sure you want to die for a cause that isn't yours? » He asked again, his hand still stroking her cheek. She looked away for a brief minute, her eyes staring at the wall and focusing on that wall for a minute. « I know we have already talked about it and I know what you said. »

« Then you know what I am going to say right now. »

She insisted, her hazel eyes now staring at him. Her gaze was cold, piercing like two arrows and it made him swallow hard. She was determined, always had been. She followed him in his crusade against the people who wronged him in order to avenge his family. She followed without many complaints. She followed without a word, to be honest, and it didn't sit well with Max. She had skills, he couldn't deny that, but she could put her skills in service of her community, of the women in distress in Boston like she had tried to do in the last couple of years. Her going with him, following him in this dark endless pit of darkness wasn't what Max wanted for her.

« Phoenix... » She leaned into his touch, eyes half closed as she relished in the rough sensation of his fingers against her cheek. « I don't want you to die for a lost cause. »

« Idiot... » She kissed his wrist and stood up.

Max wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into a hug. The assassin wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders and leaned her chin against the top of his head. He leaned into her, feeling her comforting weight against his. He wanted to say something witty about being able to touch her when not so long ago they were sleeping with pillows in between them. She grew close to him enough to allow this kind of intimacy and he grew close enough to accept it from her as well. She glanced past the window, to the compound a little further away from theirs. It was Cesare's and Phoenix was already calculating the outcome of tomorrow. She had studied the place, listed her arsenal and had several potential scenarios in mind about how things could unfold tomorrow. They had one chance out of 20 to come out alive and not apprehended by the FBI. Was it worth the try?

« I feel like I'm repeating myself over and over again.....I know he has a vital piece of information for me. He had a name. I need a name to keep on investigating. »

« I know... »

« I need to confront him tomorrow. I need to crack his skull. I need to kill this son of a bitch... » He repeated, exhaling smoke again.

« I know... » She repeated, her arms wrapped tighter around his shoulder.

« But then there's you. » He said, looking up at her face. She sighed deeply and pulled away from him. Her hands were on each side of her waist and she growled lowly.

« We're not doing this again. Max... I AM A KILLER. That's what I fucking do. I kill people. I'm an assassin.I have been all my fucking life! Let me CHOOSE the reasons I spill blood. Let me choose the way I fucking die. If we do die tomorrow, then so be it! Okay? SO BE IT! I'll get to die to fight for the right cause. »

« You could do BETTER than that! This is not your fight! This isn't your family! This IS NOT YOUR LIFE! » He was trying to push her away for reasons he didn't fully understand. Remorse maybe or maybe it was the fact she had a potential future. Maybe it was the fact he didn't want to have her blood on his hands? Maybe it was the fact... maybe it was the fact...She was pissed off and Max looked at her eyes turn into fire and fury.

« So what? Your family wasn't special! Your family was one of the many families I had decimated. Yeah! Yeah! I went there! » She said, furious against him. Max's eyes grew wide as she spoke, her venom stung harder than if she had stabbed him in the back. « Your wife and kids are just ONE story. One of the many stories I am responsible for. I kill people since I was 5 years old. What else do you want me to say? I remember every kill, every name, every face and every way I ended people lives. It's right there in my fucking mind! I close my eyes and I see the blood, the guts, I hear the screams and the cries... I hear children at night..as old as I was or younger that I killed without remorse because I was told to. Your family is a couple of names I scratched on my ledger. Stop treating them as if they were special. Stop acting as if you were special. »

He couldn't take it anymore and grabbed her neck. Her eyes grew wide as she felt the lack of air. She didn't struggle that much, instead just pushed his chest away from her as if she was encouraging him to strangle her. He used his other hand, grabbing her neck harder, clearly suffocating this woman who insulted him. His eyes were a thin white line as anger took over and he held tight, strangling the assassin who insulted the memory of his family in order to spark a reaction from him. Just like that, he could have snuffed her life and the realization that his words were hypocritical hit him hard. He kept holding her neck, urging her to fight back but she didn't, she let her hands fall on each side of her body and looked at him with a judgemental gaze. See what you're doing ! See how hypocritical of you it was to dare say « I deserved better ». it shocked Max who released her neck and watched her fall onto the ground, coughing as she finally felt a rush of fresh air into her lungs. He nearly killed her and the horror of the moment, coupled with her resignation and determination to die had him leave the motel room to clear his mind. He couldn't come back, not now.. not until his mind was fresh and clear.

Doya : What she likes

A/ N: Sam's an observer here. Oya is in a very good mood which.. dun dun dun. He actually likes. All the usual disclaimers

Xxxxxxx

Sam was exhausted from last night. He was holding his cup of coffee and blankly stared in front of him without any focus whatsoever. Dean was awake, fresh and ready to work. Unlike usual, he woke up early and started to make pancakes for when Oya would wake up. Sam looked at his cup, then at Dean who was waltzing in the kitchen, then at his cup and yawned. They didn't speak since he woke up but Dean was looking into a case. Good for him. Sam yawned again and closed his eyes, way too exhausted to say something. He had just come back from a hunt on his own and was still recovering from the bruises he collected on the job, nothing special, just some werewolf running wild and killing people, the usual stuff but something was exhausting about this case and he had not figured that out just yet. He could have if Oya hadn't made such a noise when she entered the kitchen.

«Holaaaa! » She said in a loud chuckle, wearing nothing but Dean's large shirt and a pair of Boxer. Sam lifted his cup in silence and resumed falling asleep on his chair. « It's such a beautiful day today... fresh like I love them! » She said as she sat on the table and borrowed Sam's coffee mug to take a sip. « Sorry, bookworm, but you're basically sleeping on your coffee. » She grinned and sat, meditative style on the table.

« Oya...I need my coffee to wake up. » He growled, half-asleep, which made her grin and shake her head. « Give it back. » She puffed her cheeks and gave him the cup back before her head looked away, at Dean who was making pancakes. « You have a case? »

« Kinda. Something exciting! We believe it's a good old haunting case. I want it to be a good old haunting case with a good old ghost. » She said, unable to contain her excitement. Sam chuckled and answered.

« Well, let's hope it is that then. » He knew why Oya was this excited.

His chestnut eyes averted from her to Dean she was looking in silence. Oya was hyper, always when it came to hunting. She was raised differently then they were. There was some pride in hunting, an excitement akin to those who hunted for sports. There was the challenge of the beast, the thrill of the fight and of course knowing they put their lives on the line and could die every single time they went outside. Oya had violence inside of her, a violence Sam had seen on various occasions and even talked with her about. Yet, it wasn't the hunt in itself that made Oya this happy. It was the fact she was going to hunt with Dean. It brought a smile to his face, a faint smile given how tired the younger Winchester brother was.

Oya was very easy to read, maybe even easier to read that she believed she was. It was not a secret that she fancied his brother. Sam pieced things together pretty fast with these two, from her subtle attempt to know how Dean was doing when she was talking to him, to the way she was talking of him when Sam and Oya went on hunts together. She fancied him, alright. It was more than just...sex. Sam already knew that. Oya saw in Dean things most didn't. She knew things about him most didn't and didn't run away. She knew about their missteps, their mistakes and some of the terrible things they did -Sam being a vessel of Lucifer, for example, Dean killing Death..- and she was still there, looking at them with eyes filled with stars in them. Looking at them like two human beings and treating them with a respect none of them thought they even deserved.

Oya fancied Dean and she was excited about working with him again, after so many months working on her own, going on solo missions, coming back bruised and wounded like the reckless gremlin she was. She was happy because they would spend some quality time together. She was happy just because of that and it brought a smile on Sam's face. It was so simple and yet..it felt good. Oya kept looking at Dean without a word before she turned around and ruffled Sam's hair. He looked up at her face and saw she was looking at him with a slight concern.

« You okay there buddy? » He nodded. « Good. You just look very pale. » He shrugged.

« I'm fine. Just exhausted and you took a sip of my coffee. » He growled gently before he leaned his head on the table. Oya grabbed his head and put it on her lap, making him feel more comfortable while she ran her fingers through his hair, massaging his scalp.

« I'll fetch you another cup. » She said, smiling at him while her hand was still massaging his scalp.

«.... » He didn't say anything,

His eyes closed again because he was way too tired to keep them up. Oya felt good, her fingers over his hair, massaging his scalp while she herself, was humming a soft tune. That was a habit she had, something simple he noticed over the months she liked to do. Simple gestures of affection she did without thinking twice about it. She would care for them, tend to their wounds, make sure they were relaxed. If she woke up early like she did and Dean wasn't making breakfast, she would leave and buy some, make coffee and make sure they both ate. She would hum songs while doing the simple things like doing research, training and he wouldn't miss a beat. She never missed doing these things. Watching Dean make breakfast and singing a tune... A perfect morning... a morning like she liked them.

« I hope your hunt would go well... » Sam whispered in a purr, making her nod and wrap her arms around his large shoulders. In order to be more comfortable, he had his head on her lap and his arms on each side of her legs.

«I'll tell you. It's in town...so it'll be harder to find something corny to bring you back but I'll manage. »

« I don't want an apron. » He managed to say, chuckling for the first time in the morning and bringing a smile on her lips. She didn't say anything and just ran her fingers through his hair. « I don't want an apron. » He insisted before he returned to half-sleep on her lap while Dean was making pancakes.

« He's mumbling again? » He asked, turning around to look at Oya who looked past her shoulder to Dean.

« He's half sleeping, yeah. I'm starving by the way and it smells divine! » She said, smiling at him before she returned her attention to Sam who fell asleep on her lap.

« You got it! » Dean returned to making pancakes while Oya sighed happily. All was well in her world. Bacon, breakfast, Brothers...Dean. A morning like she liked them.

Chronicles of the Primeval Gods : Life and Death of Leviathan : Frustration

A/ N: Leviathan is frustrated, Ayasha is frustrated, Elpis is frustrated.

Xxx

The master of the Ocean started to feel impatient. Elpis and Pride were aware of his presence on Earth and they knew he had the dagger of Fate with him, so what took them so long? He didn't mind Earth but was more at ease when he was near the ocean. With his memories back and his desire to avenge himself from the betrayal of the new All-Father Ishtar and Ayasha, he expected his fight with the sin to be a quick one. Pride wasn't as powerful as they hyped him up. He was nothing but a pale copy of a living being. He was nothing but a lie and Leviathan wanted to defeat him. Killing the sin and the rest of his worthless family would just be one more step towards greatness. Leviathan wanted the throne, he wanted to overthrow Isthar and become the new All-Father. He wanted to kill Elpis for the humiliation she was responsible for but before he would stab her with the dagger, he wanted to claim her. The god didn't take anyone but himself into consideration. He did covet Elpis, from the moment she became a young and attractive goddess to the moment she gave herself to Pride. He had wanted her. He had desired her and even today, the torment of wanting her flesh was tearing him apart.

She was powerful, he was aware of that, but he didn't know the full extent of her power -and would never know-. All he saw in Elpis was the trophy. All he saw in her was the pride he would have from flaunting her at his arm. All he saw in her was...superficial and he knew it. He wasn't interested in more. He didn't care about how she felt, what she wanted and her true desires. All he knew was that she was gorgeous and he could show to any other god just how superior to them he was. Unlike Ishtar who had actual remorses for what he did to Elpis, Leviathan wanted to finish the job. He was frustrated because nothing happened, he was stuck on Earth. Pride didn't even show up. What could he do if not walk the Earth and look at the oceans? Plot against his siblings while daydreaming about the level of power he would reach once he would defeat Ishtar? What else was left to do if not reminiscing and plotting? Not much...much to his distaste.

Ayasha was frustrated. She received the visit of the black butterfly, announcing the death of someone she knew, maybe even her own. She couldn't move her chess piece just yet and was forced to wait alongside Leviathan for Pride to show up and fight him to know what to do next. So much was at stake. If Pride succeeded in killing Leviathan, she would at least have had one less rival. Leviathan was clever, he figured her out pretty fast. He knew she was just an act and was the one pulling the strings behind Ishtar, her knight. Ishtar didn't want to be king, he didn't want to rule over the ruins of the primeval gods' pantheon. He didn't want to become the new All-Father but she pushed him. She forced him to take power and now that everything was set in motion, she had to go all the way in. Leviathan figured her out, it only added insult to injury.

It reminded of when Khrön did and pieced things together. Her ambition was her downfall. It was easy to see the trained eye. Her desire to control and possess, to rule over anything else was taking advantage of the rest. She couldn't help it, her own darkness was devouring her from within. She wanted to rule, be the absolute leader, the only deity alive but to perform such a feat, she had to play it nice and easy. Leviathan could die, but Elpis couldn't be alive. If Gaea died, Elpis would become the next All-mother and that couldn't happen. Gaea, herself, was vastly powerful so to make it happen would require a lot more finesse than demonstrated by Ayasha so far. There was time for that. Ayasha was frustrated because she had to hold back and wait. She had to pretend to be weak and gullible and soft. She had to pretend she cared for Elpis when all she wanted was to destroy her sibling. She had to wait.....

Elpis was frustrated. She had been forced into this never-ending reincarnation cycle for millennia, with little to no window to the outside world. She couldn't speak, couldn't touch, couldn't even feel the sun on her skin for so long that she forgot how it felt. She had been taken away from her lover, denied a lifetime with him, denied happiness by his side because they couldn't accept her love for someone different. She was forgotten, tossed away from the history of the world with nothing left, not even her name on the lips of people who used to know her. There was nothing left, up until she scratched that damn seal and brought her beloved close to her again. Yet, she still couldn't touch him. Her current vessel was a döppelganger, a perfect double who looked just like her but was nothing like her... well... she was like her innocent self, a version of Elpis who didn't exist anymore. She was wild and full of hope. She was full of dreams and full of love and light. She was who Elpis used to be. Now the deity was bitter and angry. She wanted to avenge herself, she was bloodthirsty.. and sad.. and frustrated.

Nothing could happen until they retrieved the dagger of Fate. Her destiny was still sealed, tied to the life of that human who just couldn't die or everything would start over. Elpis was frustrated. She was fragile and depended on the active interest of Pride. Her whole life, her future, depended on whether or not Pride cared enough for her. Fortunately, he did. He cared enough to try and set her free. He cared enough to face Leviathan who could potentially kill him, in order to bring her back. She was aware of this, of the potential sacrifice he was making for her and it frustrated her because she wanted to fight by his side. She wanted to be there for Pride. Her beloved.. the only reason she held onto life for so long.....Elpis was frustrated. Nothing could really change until Leviathan was dead. Nothing could really change until Pride fought Leviathan.

Tic Tac Tic Tac....

Chronicles of Lux and Tenebrae : first meeting

« I have finally found you. »

His voice was laced with emotion, trembling slightly as he couldn't believe his eyes. Lux was standing in front of him, her silver eyes were staring at the tall and lean pale figure in front of her. A face she didn't recognize due to her amnesia, but familiar nonetheless so she was comfortable by his side. The young man in front of her was handsome, otherworldly as they would say. His hair was short, white just like his skin -although, it was an uncanny shade, almost translucent-. His jet black eyes were unsettling to say the very least, dark, intense and filled with murderous intent. His face was sharp, chiseled by the gods, perfect, cold and cruel and yet.. his smile when he saw her was warm. It sent warmth down her spine and elicited a smile from her. He seemed to have been knowing her given the way he was staring at her. It felt as if he had been looking for centuries and finally found what he was looking for. It intrigued her. She tilted her head, the massive black curls fell on the left side as she stared at him with curiosity in the eyes.

« Do we know each other? » -Her voice was ethereal. Soft and sweet. Otherworldly even.-

It was her voice, soothing, nurturing, and warm. She might not remember everything, Tenebrae remembered her and her voice confirmed it was indeed Lux. He realized that if he was able to find her while visiting the Secret' Keeper, then those who attacked the Realm of all Beginnings would easily find her too. Vulnerable as she was, Tenebrae had to protect the only daughter of Life and ensure her safety until they could sort things out. He walked towards her, stepping closer to her face and gave her a sheepish smile. The softest he could manage and that didn't come across as sinister. She furrowed her brows and scratched the tip of her nose. Tenebrae was caught a little by surprise because she was beautiful and even after centuries without being by her side, she still found a way to move him. Her beauty was moving, disarming and he was left looking at her like she was one of the world's wonders.

« We do. Lux...I have been looking for you for centuries. When they attacked the realm of all beginnings, I heard you died. » She blinked at the mention of her death and shook her head.

« I can't be dead if I'm here... » She said, rubbing her taut belly. « Who are you again? »

« This is me... Tenebrae. Don't you remember? » He asked, furrowing his brows as he was starting to understand what was happening. She did die and was brought back to life. If she didn't remember him then Life might have had a good reason not to restore her daughter's memory. He held Lux' hands and stroked the back of her ebony fingers with his alabaster ones. She didn't recognize him, even after he said her name but there was still this familiarity with him that made her trust him. « It's okay if you don't remember me. It will come back to you. Your body is of divine essence which means you're recovering right now. Your memories would return to you and we will know who attacked you and how to stop them. »

« I am not sure I understand... But you seem familiar. I have been walking the Earth, forever outliving the people who cared for me without understanding why. I don't remember who I am.. but you seem to know me. »

« I do. » He said, his lips trembling as he held her fingers harder. Sparkles were created from just their touch, sparkles that felt familiar and yet unknown to the goddess. «I will protect you until you recover your strength and memory. »

« What ?.... wait.. Where are you taking me? What are we going to do? »

She asked, removing her fingers from his. Tenebrae groaned and sighed. He didn't even know that himself. He wished that seeing Lux would have brought her memories back and that from this moment they would be able to move forward but it didn't work like this. He found her, she didn't remember him. He found her and she barely understood who she was and what her real purpose was. She was no more than any of the mortals who lived on Earth. A person who walked the Earth without a sense of purpose. He wished she would remember so that he could save Life. He wished she could remember so they could resume where they left. He wished.. oh Tenebrae had so many wishes. He was frustrated and she noticed it on his beautiful face. A face like an angel, a pale angel of Death. How could she forget him? She noticed the sadness in his jet black eyes, the weight of her loss he carried on his shoulders and the relief and joy he felt when he first saw her. She wanted to share his emotions, feel happy to see him too, feel relieved but nothing came out of it. She couldn't remember him and therefore, couldn't feel happy to see him again.

« I will take you away from this place. We're going to visit the keeper of secrets. »

« You are talking gibberish to me. » She said, arms crossed over her chest.

« We have to move Lux. If I was able to find you easily, anyone can. I need to protect you and save your mother. »

«......... »

« Do you trust me? » He asked, outstretching his hand towards her. She glanced at him and sighed deeply and put her hand on his. « Good. »

He snapped his fingers and both disappeared. He took her to the darkest place on Earth, where he used to spend time when he walked the Earth: the Fortress.

Tig and Asma: Shenanigans

A/ N: Just because I woke up with these two in mind. Please, don't crucify me okay? It played differently in my mind but oh well XD I'm rusty. All usual disclaimers

Hazel eyes stared at the baby blue eyes of the old biker. He could read her concern quite easily. He knew she was upset by the stare she was giving him, worried about what he didn't tell her. They agreed to it, to him not talking about his line of work, not giving details about his job because she would never be able to handle it. She said so, not him. The tattoo artist was far from being stupid, she knew very well what he was doing, the blood from his clothes when he came back from a « car fixing » was all she needed to see to understand what was going on and yet, it angered her. It felt like a weight in her stomach, the anxiety of it all, the fear of losing him because he went to another dangerous job and didn't make it. The fear of losing him because he refused to do something else. They talked about it, he would never turn his back on the club. He would never stop being a mechanic and she agreed to it.

Hazel eyes stared at the baby blue eyes of the old biker, scanning every bit of his skin for a wound. He wasn't injured. It wasn't his blood. She watched him as he washed his hands clean, her toned and thick legs crossed over the wooden table she was sitting at as she observed Tig from behind. He was upset. Nervous actually. The job they were working paid a lot, sure, but they didn't have much room to manœuvre. He held the sink with his hands, his back arched, his eyes cold and focused on his pasty white fingers. She was upset and he felt it as soon as he came home. She barely spoke to him, just looked at his hands, furrowed her brows, and sat on the table. He hated it when she didn't speak. It had him guess, it had him think, it had him panic a little bit inside because he didn't know what she was thinking. Could this work? Them together? She said she was in love with him before he left....and now she was acting completely differently.

« Say something. »

He finally managed to say, turning around to lean against the sink and look at her. She looked like a present, her silky bathrobe hugged her curves, and gave him an appetizer for what was to come. Her pink locks fell onto her back, curled like candies wrap and suddenly, his hand wanted to get lost in her lost, hold a fist of it, hold her gracile neck, and make her speak. She lifted a brow and crossed her arms over her chest. She didn't want to talk to him, not when he came back looking all shady and she didn't know if she had to worry or not. Tig furrowed his brows and left the sink. He grabbed a chair and sat in front of her. Her feet were just inches from his lap, which made her lift a brow.

« I don't even understand why you're sulking, Bella. I've just come home. »

« With someone else's blood on your hands. » She noted, unfolding her arms and tapping her fingers on the wooden table. « Should I worry about you? »

« I'm fine. » He growled, his eyes roaming over her smooth legs up to her beautiful face. « You know my line of work. » He pointed out. « Don't pretend you're discovering that shit today. »

« I don't.» She said, taking a deep breath and rolling her head to the side.

« Then what's the fucking problem here? » He asked, furrowing his brows. «  Are you having seconds thoughts about us? » She took a deep breath and decided not to answer. Her feet started to walk on his lap, making him draw a breath and intensely look at her. «Asma! » He warned her. She didn't want to talk but he did. « Asma...Talk to me. »

« I don't want to. » She whispered, her little toes pressed against his bulge, making him draw a breath as it sent a jolt of pleasure down his spine. Asma wanted to fuck, she didn't make it very clear when he came home, but now it was crystal clear that she wanted to rile him up and have him fuck her into oblivion. « I don't want to fucking talk to you tonight. »

She growled, her two feet now massaging his bulge while she pretended she wasn't doing anything. A conversation would come later, she would figure out the mess she was at this moment. Truth to be told, she wanted this relationship to work and was upset about her outburst before he left. The whole « I don't like your job » thing was just a cover for her real feelings. She knew it. Tig had not figured it out just yet. Tig's face became somber, his eyes dark and dangerous as he observed her. She was taking way too many liberties, taunting him, acting like a brat without at least giving him a reason as to why she was doing this. She was upset, he understood that and he suspected that it had to do with the latest job he took. He didn't know and it was frustrating Alex. She chuckled to herself, knowing that she was driving the man crazy with her antics. Her heart was beating faster in her ribcage, pounding hard as it was anticipating his next move. He wasn't very patient, and after a while, with her feet playing his pants-clad cock, she felt him twitch against her. Her lips curled into a pout and Asma pushed him away, now certain that he was hard and his attention was focused on her.

She pushed herself back, sliding onto the table and finding herself at the center of it, but he grabbed her ankle and yanked her towards him. She whimpered and laid on her back, her hair spilled around her face like a pink crown and a smirk that was dancing on her lips. She kicked his chest, playfully so, informing Tig that she was not going to surrender easily and would try to escape from him. It made him groan and curse in between his breathe. As a matter of fact, he had felt her absence for way too long, her little games, her attitude, everything was done on purpose to rile him up. That made sense all of a sudden. For a brief second, he released her ankle and she used her arms to push herself up on the table, but he grabbed her ankle again and yanked her leg back, forcing her to resume her previous position.

Her eyes were intensely staring at him, glowing almost with sheer excitement as he spread her legs and pushed her at the corner of the table. The flimsy fabric of the bathrobe opened and exposed her ample chest. Asma chuckled and bit her bottom lip as Tig pressed his bulge against her wet warm panties clad slit. She hissed and shut her eyes tight, pushing his chest away so she could try and sneak out of his embrace but he sunk his nails into her waist and pinned her against the table. He wasn't amused, anymore, and for a brief moment, she felt danger. It covered her skin with goosebumps and made her run her fingers into his black locks. He figured her out and he wasn't there to play anymore.
