Doya :
A song a day keeps the doctor away
A/N :
Just thinking of our babies. I wanted something sweet for a change.
Xxxxxxx
Oya
walked quietly to the living room where Dean and Sam were. She was
wearing Dean's shirt and a pair of boxers and her freshly washed hair
was sticking to her face and neck. She tilted her head to the side as
she saw Dean holding a guitar in his hand and excitedly sat in the
leather chair next to the couch. She waved at both brothers and
grinned with that typically excited grin of hers that made Dean curb a
brow in a fake annoyed look. They seemed to be relaxed, which
encouraged the petite ebony hunter to relax as well. Dean was holding
a guitar, which wasn't that strange considering his love for music.
Oya always suspected he knew how to play at least one instrument and
Chuck proved her right, which made her grin even wider.
« What's
that? »
« A
guitar, O. » Dean said as he looked at her with a smirk on his
lips.
« I
can see very well that it is a guitar, I meant... what's that for? »
Oya crossed her arms above her chest and furrowed her brows.
« Playing
it? » -He teased her with while he strummed a few cords.
Oya lips twitched and she chuckled softly.-
« I
know what a Guitar's for. I was just wondering. I've never seen you
play anything here. »
« Perhaps
I wanted it to change. » -Sam rolled his eyes and spat the
truth.-
« He
wanted to surprise you with his brand new guitar. He knows you love
music. He also is very good at it, so here you are. »
«Aaaawww...
you wanted us to create a band! » Oya teased him and
chuckled as Dean's attempt at being snarky backfired thanks to his
little brother.
« Would
you look at that? Oya has a comeback! »' He said,
strumming again. Oya rolled her eyes and puffed her cheeks with air.
« I'm teasing ya. Sammy's half right. You inspired me when you
danced last time. You had us try something we rarely do, so I wanted
to try something I rarely do. »
« You
literally, sing every single fucking day of this fucking Earth. »
Oya pointed out and ran her hand through her hair. « However...
you could do the guitar playing and I could do the singing. »
She suggested, offering a coy smile while Dean grinned widely.
«Or...
you could just shut up and let me try something. »
Before
she could say something he strummed again and started to play a tune.
Oya swallowed her words and gently swung her head as she listened to
the tune. It was something she didn't know and her big hazel eyes
stared at Sam with a question in them. Did he know? Sam shook
his head and shrugged his shoulder as he didn't know the tune either,
which had her grow curious. It was beautiful, light, positive even
and filled with love. There was no word sung but the song spoke to
Oya on a spiritual level. Dean was speaking to her, not with his
words but with music. She could feel the emotions he wouldn't share
with her, the concern he had for her, space she was taking in his
life and in his heart, how important she was to him. It was one of
those beautiful country songs that would talk about a happy childhood
or a wild and free stallion let loose on the countryside or when you
met that woman you knew would be /the one/. It was a happy song that
talked a lot and Oya found herself curled on her chair, with both
arms wrapped around her knees.
Her
hazel gaze changed into something sweeter as she was looking at him,
engrossed by the tune he just made for her. Sam grinned, still
flipping the pages of the spellbook she offered him last year and
watching as her enamored gaze was set upon his older brother. He
knew of their bond, hell, even Castiel knew about their bond and
while he had never truly thought of it, (because of how obvious it
was for him), having them both in the same room, with a relaxed Dean
playing her guitar and a smitten Oya staring at him had him think
about them in a new light. He liked it, he liked that Dean -despite
carrying the whole world on his shoulders- had found someone who
could understand him in this world. Dean found someone who was
willing to give everything for him and who thought of him as her
whole world. Sam noticed how comfortable his brother was with Oya, to
the point of joking around, playing guitar, working cases with her.
Dean was living, no, he was enjoying life. It occurred to Sam that Oya
truly found her place here, since she both stopped running away, and
was comfortable enough to casually walk in and sit by the brothers.
Simple gestures, the biggest meaning. She was home, with both brothers,
she was home and so was he. Sam smiled to himself as he realized just
how much he loved this little gremlin and didn't want this «slice of
peace » to vanish with her. Just like Charlie, she took a big
space in his heart, and just like Kevin, she became family. He
wouldn't want anything to happen to her, and while he knew some
sinister thoughts crawled at the back of his head, today was a day to
celebrate and enjoy. Oya was here, alive and happy. Oya was there...
Oya was Home.
