TVD: Missing a friend

// All usual disclaimers!

It had been a while since the witch spent time with her friend. The very first she made when Elijah advised her to leave her shop. Willa was still suffering from blackouts, as far as the witch remembered. The supernatural element about her never really left Asma's mind. What was she? If you spent some more time outside maybe you would know. but you don't. You stay inside and you watch the world from the comfort of your home. Asma was worried, mostly because she knew it only was a matter of time before her actual nemesis came to Mystic Falls, but she had hopes that wherever Willa was, she was at peace and didn't have any headaches.

She hadn't been at the bar for almost a year now and didn't know if Willa would remember her, but it didn't matter. There was something bigger than both of them coming their way and the witch wanted to dedicate all of her attention and time to protecting her beloved town. She looked at the letter she had tried to write several times over the year and never could. It always started with "Dear Willa" and ended up with "I'm sorry." and this pathetic attempt didn't change from the previous one. Frustrated, the witch tore the paper in half and threw it in the trash can. Maybe Willa was fine, maybe she would be. Maybe she didn't need to be harassed by a nobody. What would she tell her anyway? that she had met the Salvatore brothers and their friends? That she fell in love -for the second time in her extremely long lifetime- with one of them and couldn't bring herself into telling him those words? that she knew she was a supernatural creature but couldn't pinpoint which one? That she failed at helping her and wanted to make amends?

There was nothing she could have done, if not just stare blankly at her unfinished letter and sob in silence. She didn't know how to make friends, didn't know how to address them and didn't know how to care for them. Willa must have forgotten about her, it had been a year since they last talked to each other. A year since Asma's first messy attempt at making friends. Willa might have forgotten her...maybe that was for the best. She groaned and ran her hand through her pink locks. Now if only Damon could have left her shop instead of settling in to avoid talking to his brother and Elena. If only he could have left so she wouldn't have to look at him and daydream about him.

Now if only he could have left so she wouldn't feel her breaking heart everytime she heard his voice or felt his strong hands on her shoulders. She needed a friend to confide in and talk to but she couldn't. His friends were too close to him. Her friends weren't even real. So she thought of Willa, thinking that somehow, the image she had of her could give her pieces of advice. Tell her to go. Tell her to run away from Mystic Falls and try again somewhere else. She tried to, but the sight of Damon's beautiful blue eyes was enough to make her knees go weak...That sight alone was enough to make her reconsider and stay. She straightened up in her chair and glanced past the front door where Damon was standing at. He was holding two glasses of bourbon and was smirking at her.

"You haven't left your room in a couple of days. You've been acting weird since I had my nightmare, I think we need to talk."

"MMhh... I think I need a drink instead." She answered, taking the glass he handed to her. "Damon...You haven't talked to Stefan...You have to."

"Maybe. I don't want to." She rolled her eyes and took a sip of bourbon."I guess that's for another day."

"Yeah... another day." -She answered, her face became somber as the witch took a sip of her bourbon.-

Doya: Sam and Oya : The demon serial killer case part 3 confrontation!

A/ N: Sam and Oya finally learned the identity of the serial killer and decide to go after it. Also, he's trying to talk to her about her « lashing out » at the witch in between their case but she's avoiding talking to him.

Xxx

« SAM !!! » -Oya yelled as the demon held her neck and was choking her.-

After three days of investigation in the Church of Light, Sam and Oya finally realized that the only thread between all the murders was Chantal's wife Stephanie. Sam discovered that she was the founder of the cult and therefore was present in all the five states where it existed. While Chantal recruited new members locally, Stephanie traveled through the country and was present each and everytime a new victim showed up. Sam confirmed it was Stephanie and the pair decided they could confront her at a time where there would be no followers so nobody would get hurt. Usually, the followers had a very tight timetable, filled with activities that were supposed to ensure the cohesion of the group except for Thursday afternoon and nights. Thursday was free, which made it easier for the Winchester and the African hunter to search for their target. Their investigation started to raise suspicion and have people talk a lot about this strange couple. The death of the local witch, only made things worse and tipped Chantal who started to lead her own investigation. She started to piece things together and realized that her wife was actually potentially a serial killer. Mortified, she confronted the woman who quickly revealed the truth and snapped her neck.

Oya and Sam arrived at their house, having noticed from afar the lights being on. The woman grabbed a regular knife and left the car, quickly followed by Sam, who also had a hunter's knife and a gun in his hand. As soon as they entered the home, the lights went off, making Oya grunt and motion to Sam that she was going upstairs while he should keep looking for their target on the ground floor. The house seemed pretty normal at first glance, but Oya knew better and kept her attention on her surroundings. She opened the office room and found Chantal's body laying on the floor. The poor woman's throat was snapped, which didn't coincide with the murders that took place in the past. Furrowing her brows, Oya started to wonder if they got it right because it didn't make sense that Chantal's body wouldn't be mutilated like the other victims. Before she could further her investigation, she felt the presence of someone on her back. Stephanie tried to stab Oya with a knife but Oya dodged the attack by sliding to the left. The knife stayed stuck on the wooden table and Oya used the moment Stephanie realized it, to turn around with a punch that was blocked by the woman. Her eyes turned black, indicating that she was a demon.

Oya tried to kick the demon's left side but her leg was caught by the monster who then proceeded to slam the African hunter's body against the wall. Oya grunted and stabbed the creature's shoulder with her regular knife. It made her chuckle and slap the African hunter in the face before she held her by the neck. Sam heard the noises upstairs and quickly ran the stairs up to the first floor. He looked into the bedrooms but they were empty and followed the noise. He gasped at the sight, but furrowed his brows and tried to stab the demon bitch without hesitation, but she heard him from when he ran upstairs thanks to the old wood that creaked and made some distinguishable noise and because she did, it wasn't difficult to block him with her other hand and throw him around against the nearest wall. She tilted her head to the side, giving a slasher smile to Oya who was still choking on her hand. The distraction provided by Sam was enough for Oya to use the wall to push her knee up so it could hit the demon's chin.It worked, making Stephanie take some steps back.

Oya groaned as she felt short of breath. The hunter grabbed the knife that was on Stephanie's shoulder and used it to cut through her left eye, effectively blinding the vessel and forcing the creature to snarl and release her neck. By the time Oya fell onto the floor, Sam had been back to his feet and tried to stab the creature with a demon blade. The demon grinned and punched Sam's belly, once, twice but lost focus on Oya who rubbed her throat as she now could breathe. She stood back up and watched as the demon kicked Sam, who dropped his knife that rolled towards Oya.

"A Winchester in my lair. Who would have thought I would have the best prey?!" Stephanie finally said. "How exciting! you're both no match for me but I like a little struggle."

She cooed, grabbing the knife that was stuck on the table. She disregarded the fact Oya might still be able to hunt due to her straining her throat. Sam rolled on his side, avoiding the attack of the demon, once, twice and then blocked the knife with both hands while he glanced at Oya who was trying to stand back up so she could help Sam. The brother grunted as Stephanie bent forward and grinned at his face.

"Without Crowley leading Hell, we're pretty much free to do as we please. Nobody's going to save you from your destiny. You have to die, Sam Winchester."

She said, using her strength to lift the knife and tear down the skin on both Sam's hands but before she could stab him, Oya managed to stand up and stab her through the heart with Sam's demon blade. She screamed and as the lifeless corpse of Stephanie fell onto the floor, Oya legs gave up on her and she sat by it. Sam sat too and both stared at each other, heavily breathing from their fight. Oya's hazel eyes averted from Sam's face to the body of the serial killer and then from it to the box filled with her past crimes memorabilia. This case would be easy to explain, easier than previous tragedies. Stephanie was a serial killer long before the demon took possession of her body, so explaining what happened was not going to be much of a challenge. However, the witch Oya killed was another story... They managed to cover up their tracks but Sam was still bothered by what he witnessed. Oya was upset. She let herself be surprised by a demon, she didn't go inside fully prepared. What could she do with a regular blade against Angels or Demons? She furrowed her brows and hit her lap, frustrated by her encounter with a demon and the fear she now was starting to experience.

"Oya?" Sam said in a worried tone. She looked up to his eyes but clenched her jaw "Are you alright?"

"Yeah..." She shook her head. "No... " She wiped a tear off of her face. "I'm not."

"Yeah?" He encouraged her to speak, but in true Sam fashion, he wouldn't push her. He had questions that died at the back of his throat; Questions about the night with the Witch and why she was acting the way she did.

"I already can't handle angels... You know that, right?." He nodded, his brown eyes glancing at Stephanie's body. "I can't handle them...I can't handle them so imagine how little I can handle demons....."  She said, both disappointed scared. Her hands were shaking as she spoke, her whole body was still in shock of her encounter. It was her first demon, the very first besides Crowley that she actually fought and killed. "I couldn't face Stephanie... I couldn't face her.."

"You-- You killed her. You saved me. /you/, did that." He said, trying to reassure her. She glanced at him and swallowed a lump. "You faced a demon today."

"How are you not terrified?" She asked, her voice light as the wind as she knelt on the floor and tried to stand up. "How are you not terrified everytime you face a demon? or even the King of Hell?  Or.." She wiped another couple of tears and watched as Sam stood back up.

"Don't think we're not afraid. We just do it, just like you did. We just do it and you did it today. You will do it tomorrow." He outstretched his hand to help her stand on her two feet. "Thank you, Oya."

"You're welcome..." -She said as she held onto his hand and stood back up.-

"Let's go back home." He said, grabbing her shoulder to give it a firm squeeze before he left the room.

Oya followed him, lost in her thoughts. She knew that it wasn't over and they both would need to talk about what happened in the house with the witch.  Oya wanted to avoid the conversation. She didn't want to talk about her fear of losing him and his brother. She didn't want to talk about the nightmare in itself or about the bloodlust that took over her. Oya fell silent, unable to think as he took her to the motel room they were renting so she could take a shower and cleanse herself from the day.  She didn't say anything as he brought her back some pizza to eat and even less when they fell asleep. She had a nightmare that night, one that had her kicking and screaming but Sam was with her, his arms wrapped around her frame and his chin on top of her curly black hair. He watched over her all night long, stroking her arms and petting her back to keep her calm. It was going to be a conversation for another day. Another day.

SoA : Meeting Ava

A/ N: This one has been promised ever since Asma learned Jess was pregnant! I had to keep on that promise:p so here you are. I think it's a little cheesy and dramatic but I guess that's how I roll lol love you <3

XXXX

«Asma? You can come closer if you wish. Don't be afraid, she doesn't bite. »

Jessica's bemused tone brought a smile on Asma's worried face. Two weeks after she delivered Ava, the young parents allowed visitors but Asma stalled before she decided to pay a visit to the Teller family. She texted and called but couldn't bring herself to actually take her two feet and hold the baby in her hand. So much went on in the last couple of years and Asma didn't know if she was ready yet. She had to be! Jessica believed her to be! Asma had sobered up, and save for that one night when she drank herself to nothingness, she hadn't tasted a single drop of alcohol. She turned her life around so she was ready.

« I know she doesn't. She looks so comfy. » -Asma's soft voice gently answered Jessica-

Ava was indeed looking very cute. She looked at her mother with big blue curious eyes and slowly shifted in the other woman's hands. Her big blue eyes seemed to set upon Asma before she closed them again. Some said babies this young couldn't see, but they were very aware of their surroundings and she was aware of this person she wasn't familiar with. Asma looked up to Jessica who nodded, confident in the woman as she sat on the chair near her daughter's crib.

"Go ahead...Say hi." Jessica's chocolate locks fell onto her shoulder and her nose-

"She's so tiny." -Asma whispered, her right forefinger gently stroking the infant's cheeks.- "She's so fragile." She said, her hazel eyes now set on her friend to find some strength in her. "H..hi Ava Grace.."

She whispered again, earning a yawn from the baby who opened her eyes again to look at her. Ava was so calm that it soothed the adult that was holding her in her arms. Jessica was still watching but relaxed as she felt Asma feel more and more confident in holding her kid.She leaned into the chair and gently patted her belly. it was significantly less swollen than when she was pregnant, but it was still there, almost as a reminder that "it" happened.

"I have made quite the big deal of my first meeting with you haven't I?" She kept going. "It's because you represent a lot to me. When your mama told me she was expecting you, of all the feelings I had, I knew you would be welcomed into a beautiful house filled with people who would love you tremendously. Ah. you have so many uncles and aunts who love you already." She swung around, soothing the little girl who was staring at her with curiosity more than anything else. "I was afraid I wouldn't be one of these people. You see, I was struggling a lot with my life when your mom told me about you. I was in a very dark place where Hope didn't exist. I didn't feel like I existed either." Her voice died out and she looked up at the ceiling to hold back some tears.

"I couldn't imagine a future for myself but I already was trying my best to get my life together. Your mom helped me... She made the nightmare go away like she would make yours go away too." She said, referencing Oscar. "She made me want to be a better person for myself. Not because of her love for your dad, but because of her love for me. She loved /me/ when I couldn't. She saved me when I didn't know I could be saved...by showing me love and support and helping me find the strength inside of me. She did that." her voice almost broke at this point and she turned to bare her back at Jessica who choked up but kept a smile on her face.

Ava yawned again, which made Asma smile and plant a soft kiss on her forehead. "I wanted to be better when I heard your mom was expecting you. I wanted to be able to stand there, hold you in my arms and be worthy of being in your life. I did it. I turned my life around." She planted another kiss, this time a little longer than the previous one. "I'm your aunt Asma. I will always keep an eye on you and your brothers. I will always make sure you're alright. I'll protect you as much as I can." She said as she turned around and gently put Ava back in her crib. "This is why I'm going to ask you something, Jess. I don't want to rely on Tig or you to protect myself. I keep thinking of the night...I keep thinking of that night and I want to be able to protect myself. Could you please teach me how to use a gun? I don't mind if it takes a while, I want to be able to protect the jellybeans when I am with them."

"Of course. I will teach you." -Jessica didn't hesitate-

.She hated guns and was very vocal about them but she quickly realized that in the world she was living in and the people she associated herself with, troubles would come and she needed to be prepared for them. Months ago, Asma chose to stay in Charming, she chose to take this life despite the risks, so it was fair to prepare her for it.  Jessica nodded and moved her hand so Asma could come closer. Asma rushed into Jessica's arms for a hug and shut her eyes tight. She did it. she was able to overcome a few fears these past couples of weeks, Christmas with Tig, spending time at the hospital and now meeting Jessica's newborn baby. It was exhausting mentally but so comforting to know that she was able to do that. Jessica didn't say anything as she gently petted Asma's hair and back for a while.

Phoenix and Max: two different road

A/ N: Plot thickens, They're getting close to Cesare but they would have to choose between staying together -and choosing between saving the journalist or catching Cesare- or split up and take more risks.

xxx xxx

« I am ready » -Her voice echoed through their motel room- « I just need to drive to the Airport. »

Several weeks after the kiss Max and her shared, Phoenix had fully recovered from her gunshot. They went to San Diego after local news broadcasted information a breakthrough of Deaths among drug users and the existence of the new hit drug called « the Serpent ». When cleaning up the streets of the Serpent traffic, they found leads about Cesare and Kara Morgan whereabouts. Kara announced on a video she sent to a friend of hers that she would appear at Chicago, at the Hepstein Academy awards, a ceremony in memory of Audrey Hepstein, one of the toughest and most acclaimed reporters of the late 80's, Phoenix told Max that she needed to save Kara from Cesare's hands and would attend the ceremony to find and rescue her. Unfortunately, Cesare himself, would not be in Chicago and instead, it was said that he would be at Lawrence, visiting his dying mother. It would be the only opportunity to have him less protected than usual. They decided that it would best if she went after Kara and he went after Cesare so they would have a chance at achieving their goals. The first reaction both had once they verbally agreed on that plan was to regret saying it.

« Are we sure we're doing this? » -Max was concerned and for the first time since they met, he didn't even try to hide it from her.-

« We talked about this, Max. Your main target is Cesare. I don't know what you plan to do with him, but this is your only shot at taking him down. This is the only one I have for Kara. She's my main goal. » She paused and looked at him straight in his chestnut eyes « ... Her rescue is. » She said, chewing on her bottom lip while her fingers fidgeted randomly.

Max glanced at her, with her bag on her shoulders, her leather pants and tight black t-shirt and black boots. You wouldn't believe she was an actual assassin if she didn't show her skills. He was wearing a black t-shirt, a pair of grey pants and his leather jacket. He stood up from the chair he was sitting and walked towards her. Max didn't want to let her go, somehow, he knew that if he let her go it would be the last time they would see each other. She was right however, Cesare was known to be extremely cautious and almost paranoid with his protection. The only reason his security detail was so light was that Beatriz, his mother, didn't like the life of crime he chose for himself. He didn't want to upset the old woman in her final days. Max clenched his jaw and fidgeted with his fingers as he refrained from pulling her into a hug. Phoenix wanted to touch him, ever since he kissed her, it became easier for the two of them to touch one another. It would be the random hand on her knee, the arm wrapped around her shoulders the nights both were frustrated about their fruitless hunt for information. She didn't need to put a pillow in between their bodies when they were sleeping next to one another. Contact became easier but added more water to their windmill. They grew close to one another and they both knew their respective missions could end up with one of them -or both, or neither- dead. Yet, both were frozen on their spot, looking at each other seriously as if nothing else was possible.

« I know. I guess this is when we say goodbye then. » She nodded at him and tucked some honey strands behind her ears.

« I guess so. » Her voice was on the verge of cracking.

Phoenix wasn't as confident as she used to be when she went on a mission. This mission was akin to suicide in her case because of how different from her usual missions this was. Usually, when she entered a room, every person inside was dead. She wouldn't need to worry about keeping anyone alive because her job was to literally kill her targets and their goons. This time, she would have to be stealthy, make sure that no innocent was killed -and there would be an entire room filled with innocent people- and save Kara from her captors. Being shot a couple of weeks ago was enough to shake her confidence up. She only needed to be distracted once, like when they tried to catch Martin Greene. Just one second of distraction, because of an innocent boy happened to be in that car, she nearly died. Max swallowed a lump, holding back words he knew he didn't want to say. 'Be careful ', 'Come back to me' and even that sneaky 'I'll miss you' wanted to come out of his lips but he swallowed those words back and gave her a long nod instead. He couldn't say anything and neither could she. Words were peculiarly difficult to say, his throat betrayed him as it kept the words stuck inside.

« We'll see how well you do in a few days then. » He said moving his head to the tv on his back. « Go make one hell of a show. » He smirked, a genuine gentle smirk she had rarely seen on his face. The assassin eyes seemed bigger than usual, wet from the unshed tears she refused to cry.

«  You too. » -Her voice was still broken but this time, he couldn't miss it. Her hazel eyes averted from his face to his hands and she ran her hand through her curly hair before she turned on her heels. « I'll hear from your murder in the streets. I promise I'll clean Chicago streets from 'The serpent' » She said with a slight nod of her face. She shut her eyes tight as if to give herself some strength to leave. « See you around Max. »

« See you around Phoenix. » -He said as he watched her leave the motel room.-

Those last words felt wasted, the moment became a non-moment. Max shrugged it off as nonsense and a waste of time. Feelings had no room in the life he was living. He refused to think of her as more than an ally in his quest for revenge. Sure, they had been working together in several months now, shared several motel rooms, killed goons left and right together and even got rid of one mob boss -only to find him replaced by another more cunning and dangerous crime lord.-. She had been in his mind ever since he noticed her softer side. She had been in his mind ever since they shared that kiss. Max didn't want to think too much about it, about how right it felt to finally feel her lips against his, how good it felt to have her frame against his. She who didn't like to be touched searched for it, demanded it up until he realized he was giving into something he swore not to look at again. Phoenix was extremely competent as well, so Max decided to ignore his fears of losing her. That was ridiculous.

As she entered her car and started the engine, Phoenix herself couldn't shake the feeling of a wasted opportunity to talk to Max one last time. She had the opportunity to watch him over the few months they spent working together and she knew that he couldn't get out of his vengeful loop. He couldn't see past his revenge and she couldn't blame him. After all, Cesare took part in the slaughter of his family. He didn't do it himself per say, but he worked for the people who did. Getting to him was Max' chance to get closer to his goal but she knew that he could take inconsiderate risks. He would die, consumed by his anger like she was by hers. She held tighter on the wheel, reminiscing her own killing-spree in the name of revenge when she set herself free from the BEO. She remembered how empty and lost she felt when she achieved her goal. How could he rebuild himself if he didn't have someone by his side to either guide him or give him the support he needed? Her fingers unclenched and clenched onto the wheel for a minute before she turned the engine on and drove off to the airport. Her ship had sailed, her mission was clear: save Kara Morgan or die trying. It was the most important thing to do for her because Kara embodied the truth, justice and the fight for the voiceless. Saving her would allow Phoenix the redemption she was seeking. Or so she thought.

Or so she thought.

SoA: Let's meet Ava Jess and Asma

"I know the precious jellybean is in the other room, but I don't think I'm ready to meet her just yet. I came to see you, bring you tea, let you have some sleep while I keep an eye on Abel and Thomas."

I remember I said those words, unsure of whether or not I would have the guts to actually walk my feet to that other room and meet the sweet little girl. I made a fuss out of it, a BIG step forward because I wanted to be a better person before I could meet her. You always told me that I shouldn't be worried or shouldn't feel like I have to work harder because I was actually ready.

"You know.. she already loves you Pumpkin." Your silky voice sang to me, making me blush in the process because I knew you were right. You put the tea mug back onto the table and held my hand. "You'll see... I know she's extraordinary but so are you. What do you think would happen?"

"I don't know?"

"Two legends are about to meet and I will witness it. I have my phone ready, I can't wait to take pictures of you two."

"Just one, just one." I could feel blood rush to my cheeks as I knew you would take a picture. "Just one picture with me and the princess, Please." -You laughed, relaxed-

"Okay. Just one." Your voice is soft and warm, maybe even warmer than I could recall your voice to be. I smile at you and put my empty mug on the table. "Let's say we do this when I visit next?"

"No. Now. We're doing it now because if we don't, then you would never visit her." Anticipating my stress, you put your hand over mine and nodded. "Do you trust me?" I nodded. "Good, because we're doing this now." And you held my hand tightly. I held onto your hand and swallowed a lump. It had to happen, so let's do this.

Doya: The odds

Sam and Oya: The odds

A/ N; continuing with this little sub-plot. Oya and Sam are spending some time together and already we can tell that communication is NOT their forte at all. Oya is still upset about Isaac's death and is afraid she might lose the brothers. Sam is upset because she's very stubborn and doesn't want to talk about the very fact she's afraid and he can see that. I'm 100% sure it's going to enter the DOYA storyline because I like this one.

xxxxxxxx

Sam and Oya's case was finally leading them somewhere. They went to the single and widowers party organized by the Church of Light to talk to the last victim claimed by the monster. Her name was Roberta Denver. It was her husband, Phil, who discovered her one morning when he came back from work, dead, with her eyes burned. The poor man couldn't understand why his wife died the horrible death she had. Roberta was almost a saint, a woman who dedicated her life helping people in need. He wasn't interested in being with someone else, Roberta being the love of his life, but still attended the parties because the Church encouraged him to. His story confirmed what Oya and Dean suspected about the killer coming back every 5 years and claiming victims. The fact the numbers doubled was unusual, however, because usually, demons were methodical. If, however, it bonded with a serial killer, then everything made sense. There was an escalation, probably induced by the human host. They were narrowing down the list of potential suspects, all the while pretending to be a couple. It amused Oya who couldn't help but laugh because she embarrassed Sam; She didn't even need to go extreme in her tease, a simple contact and innuendos were enough to make him blush and swallow a lump. It was refreshing but even less than the oddity that having another case happen right in the same town as they were was.

What were the odds? A witch decided to play around and kill her relatives. It didn't take long for the hunters to figure her out and go after her. The fight should have been an easy one, but the witch proved to be more powerful than expected. Oya was a victim of one of her hex that compelled her to witness her greatest fears. Unlike what the ebony hunter believed, her greatest fear was to lose both Dean and Sam. The Thomas were family of course, but she was still under the illusion that they would fair well. Especially Sarah since she was out of the hunting business. Seeing the corpses of the brothers was enough to make Asma lose her mind. Instead of being broken like the witch hoped for, she attacked her. Oya lashed out and Sam witnessed it with horror. Oya was fast, maybe faster than usual as she leaped onto the witch and grabbed her neck. He saw as she took her hunting knife out of its sheath and stabbed the witch repeatedly in the neck.

There was blood everywhere and the witch tried to strangle Oya -it didn't last long because she died pretty quickly- Sam intervened when he realized that Oya wasn't done with he body. She started to stab her chest and screaming horribly. Sounds weren't even human or maybe they were. He recognized it. She was screaming in pain, in horror and he guessed that it had something to do with what the witch made them see. -He saw the very same things. The younger Winchester brother grabbed Oya's shoulders and forced her to her feet. It was the first time that she actually saw him be worried about her, to the point that she nearly froze. Her eyes grew wide as he kept asking how she was doing. She looked at him, understanding that he indeed was worried about her and then at his hands that were holding onto her shoulders. She couldn't hear his words, but just the noise of his voice. She then snapped out of it and put her hand over his. His mind was racing and she could tell by the way he was looking at her. He knew. He knew what had just happened and he knew why she did it. It was obvious. She brought her blood-soaked hands up to cover his with and nodded quietly, almost as if she was trying to comfort him. -maybe she was-

« I'm okay. » -Her voice was mechanical but she was focused in the present now. « I'm okay Sam. »

«Yeah? » He didn't believe her but she held his hands tighter.

« Yeah. I'm okay. She just really tried to kill me but messed with the wrong short girl. » She said, forcing a chuckle. Sam was confused but he cleared his throat and released her shoulders.

« Let's go back to the motel room. You need a beer and so do I. »

« That's an idea I can get behind! » She said as she walked away from the crime scene. « I can totally get behind drinking myself to sleep after a hot shower.

« Sure... »

Sam tried to burn the thought in his mind, thinking that it might just be circumstantial and Oya would not behave like this in their current case. He wouldn't want her to take risks and end up being killed by the demon they were chasing after. His worried gaze set upon the ebony hunter as she sat on his right and leaned into the seat and he then turned the engine on and left the house.

Doya. Shorts

She was rough on the edges, quiet, almost cold.
The only moments she let go of that mask was when she was with her family. The brothers and the Thomas when she thought about texting them. She barely kept contact, maybe a call once a week, maybe a text every two weeks but she didn't do more than this, she certainly didn't visit.

However, she was in touch with the brothers and they had seen her smile and laugh more than once. Sam noticed that but only said that it felt good that she feels comfortable around them. Dean, maybe he did too -Oya was certain he knew she felt cosy with the band of misfits they were-

She was rough, for sure, and the brothers both have hit against those sharp angles but it strengthened their bond over the year and a half she spent with them.

It made them family.

They were her family

She found comfort in his arms. A promise that the night would at least be good and she would feel safe. Oya led a fast life, paced by the cases she took one after the other. It became mechanical, almost as natural as breathing.

But she needed to stop and breathe. Dean made her, when he realized that she'd been deep into her cases and came back with a huge collection of scars and bruises and the satisfaction of having saved lives coupled with the solitude he read in her eyes.

She was lonely. Despite what she said, Oya hated being alone. She hated it but couldn't actually tell a soul. Instead she kept a poker face, fake smiles, fake laughs, fake everything and moved on. She had to. So she hunted on her own and took all the joy she could from actually saving people and killing monsters but the real nightmare was when she was alone in her room. there, she couldn't hide and nightmares plagued her.

Dean soothed her soul with his mere presence and for a brief moment, she was not alone anymore and it was everything.

That moment when he gives you a rose. We already had to play dress-up to get close to one of our targets -you know, when we investigated- and he wasn't comfortable wearing a tux, I wasn't comfortable wearing those ball gowns but he still gave me a rose because he knows they're my favourite flowers.

I'm confused
He really makes me drop the mask and dare I say... smile.

A big fat toothy smile, not those smirks I always serve.

Jeez...he's adorable, but hush.

She filled her life with adventures. Her heart only beat for action. She was hooked on the thrill of the hunt and the harder the fight was, the best it was for her. Some said she was violent, bloodthirsty even and maybe they were right. She enjoyed taking down monsters and saving people in the same breath. hunting became her refuge.

It was the only way she found to feel alive. Going out there, doing her job. Day after day of the same routine, of taking bigger risks each time she left the bunker. It was the only thing keeping her sane. She knew she was a mess, one that couldn't be saved but she wanted to do the right thing and give her life a meaning.

A hunter's life was lonely, even with companions but she enjoyed it and wouldn't trade it for anything else. She never looked back but might consider it for the brothers.

Oya wanted to be there for Dean. She was his protector, his guardian angel, his friend. She was the one who would make sure he didn't do anything stupid.

She wanted to be there for Dean, to relieve him from the heavy burden he kept on carrying. To relieve him from the pain he kept on experiencing. She wanted to be that for him.

she wanted to be, but how could she when she couldn't help herself?

And then you have these two idiots. Okay, not idiots but you get my drift.

On the left there is....Bookworm and on the right there is Dickhead. The brothers. The Winchesters. They took me in when I needed a place to stay at and I never really left.

I like the noise they make when they're home. The bunker feels less empty, more alive. I never really got to tell them I liked their company, I'm terrible with words, but I guess they know? Sam does, we get along better I feel. Dean...he's quite difficult to get, but as long as we don't bump heads I guess we're fine.

They hunt together most of the time, which is better this way so I could go on my hunts on my own. Less problematic like that. We just crossroads or work together, when the opportunity comes.

Isaac asked me to say how I feel when I'm with these two. I'd say, I feel at home because they make me feel as such. A nice home for the short life us hunters have. I didn't do too bad.
