Chronicles of the
Primeval Gods: Life of Elpis: Evolution
Xxxxx
Elpis stood at the
balcony of their hotel for the last time. Tomorrow they would be leaving the
place, for it would have been long enough for Ayasha to be able to locate them.
She stared at the swimming pool below, brimming with life and filled with
oblivious humans. Somehow, she grew to envy those creatures who would never
know the torments of immortality, and the divine battles led to another plane of
existence. They would never know just how much their peace and quiet were under
the control of the winning pantheon and how little their lives meant to gods
who existed for eons. The Primeval gods predated the existence of the universe.
Khaos simply was before he chose to create the universe and add some companions
so he wouldn’t be alone. What weight could humans have against literal gods?
Nothing…And yet here they were enjoying their lives to the fullest since it was
the only one they would ever have.
Her pink locks were
floating with the wind, whipping her face in the process but she did not mind
it at all. Instead, the Elder goddess felt even more anchored to the present and
this plane of existence. Just below her was the remnants of the garden of
Everything, a place that was no longer how it used to be due to human
intervention. Thanks to Pride and the wonderful time they spent here, Elpis was
able to accept that things never truly stay the same but evolved. From the
garden and luscious and gorgeous hotel rose and replaced wildlife and nature at
its finest. The floor was still the same, the steps she took millennia ago were
covered with concrete, but it didn’t matter. It was the place. It had evolved
just like her relationship with Pride. The betrayal from Ishtar and Ayasha led
to her curse and just as a domino effect, impacted on the Sin too. Hades unmade
him and remade him to better fit his desires, unaware that he had created a
better version of his weapon, the one who ended up overthrowing him and taking
over the crown of the Underworld.
They were both spoiled time,
unable to recover what was once lost, they had to learn how to know each other
again and like magic, it worked on them. She fell in love with Pride again. He
grew closer to her, this time genuinely so. In the end, Elpis realized that she
gained something out of a desperate situation. She reinvented herself, grew
stronger and far more powerful than she ever was since she was free to tap into
her true power. Time revealed to her that she was as powerful if not more
powerful than the All-Mother Gaea and in time, once fully recovered, she would
be able to challenge her mother. As she remembered what she went through, the
goddess held onto the balcony a little stronger, her eyes now glowing a bright
golden light. She had come a long way after all. From the vulnerable and naive
goddess she used to be and was groomed to become by her family, she became a
strong and powerful goddess with a devouring ambition. She was free, as free as
the humans below her and this new sensation sent shivers down her spine. She
did evolve. She was anew!
Pride came closer to her,
his left fingers quietly ran over the smooth and unmarred skin of her back,
revealed by the nice cleavage of her dress. She shivered and tilted her head to
the side, glancing at her beloved who was now standing next to her. She smiled at him and then looked back at the swimming
pool. Their time here had been glorious. She recalled the delicious parties
that turned into orgies of sex and violence. She recalled her arms turned into
pure white light and strands of hair as well, indicating that she was indeed in
the process of mastering her newfound abilities. She remembered the euphoria
she felt as the mayhem unfolded around the two lovebirds. She remembered his
promise to forge her a weapon worthy of her. He hadn’t begun it yet, since he
had business to conduct with Lust and the Underworld, but she knew he would
make her proud and give her something she would finally be able to use in their
last battle against Ishtar and Ayasha.
The Universe being capricious,
the elder goddess knew that if Ishtar was defeated and gone, then his title and
power would befall Pride, thus making him the new All-Father. The thought was sweet and exciting for the
pink-haired goddess who was hoping that this sudden power upgrade and title
would motivate them to conquer the rest of the Universe. An excited grin crept
on her lips and she leaned her head against his shoulders. It was time to bid
farewell to a place that held so many memories in it. The old and new ones merged
in order to give Elpis a stronger love for the Sin. If there was a sliver of
doubt in her mind, it had vanished now and forever. her love was eternal,
powerful because it transcended time, distance, and even curses. It didn’t care
about the change that occurred to her beloved, she embraced him, old and new. She
embraced all of him and his ambition and while she never truly asked him how he
felt about her, she knew that Pride cared. He genuinely cared for his Light, ditching
his older self’s tendency to lie when it was convenient for him for genuine
affection for the goddess. She was by his side and it felt right.
« It’s time to leave
this place, my Light. »
« I know…I just
wanted one last look before we leave. » She replied, rubbing her head against his shoulder. He nodded and
fell silent for a minute, allowing her to have one last look. « It is the
place of all beginnings when we think of it. »
« Is that so? »
He asked and curbed a brow. She nodded softly. « Tell me more. »
« We met here. Eons ago.
Two different versions of ourselves found each other. I have finally understood
your words when we arrived at this resort. It had evolved into a five-stars
hotel and at first it did upset me. I couldn’t understand why they salvaged the
sacred piece of nature it used to be and felt that I had lost this special
place forever. But you were right. It’s still here, under the concrete. It had
simply changed over time just like we both did. I’m not the Elpis you used to
know. You’re not the Pride I used to know and yet I fell in love with you
again. I found you and I loved you again. » -She smiled at him and gently stepped on her
tiptoes so she could kiss his cheek- « I will follow you to the end of
the universe. I swear on my life. »
« You don’t need to
swear anything, my light. I can tell right that you are true. » -He smiled
and pressed a kiss to her forehead. He then turned around and summoned a
portal. « Where do you want to go next? This time, I’ll let you choose
the location. »
« What about Paris?
I heard it was the city of Love. »
« Romance? »
He curbed a brow and she stuck her tongue out. « Fine, I said you could
pick up a location. We will go there then. »
« Come on, Superbia.
It’s the perfect city to try out our powers. Besides, Paris is known to have
fabulous fashion. Aren’t we supposed to look our best when we drive those
humans crazy? » She teased him, wiggling her brows before he pulled
her into a kiss to shush her and closed his hand to teleport them away from the
former Garden.
