Modern -GoT-: Second chances
A/N: Love those two
She gave him a second chance, one of those he
wasn’t sure to ever deserve. She saw something in him that very few could,
perhaps Rhaegar did, with honest eyes. His mother did but she wasn’t sane
anymore. Her love was toxic, her mind had lost grip with reality and she
encouraged and enabled him in his terrible behavior. Viserys was an asshole, a
certified one at that. Despite his frequent outbursts and negative press, he
also was considered an esthete. He was the guardian of good taste and some
sort of rock star of the modern-day. Viserys was hypnotic, magnificent, and
perfect, but it was all a front. Inside, he was as confused and lost as he was
as a kid. Deep down he was still upset at his father for betraying their mother
and causing her slow death from a broken heart. Deep down he was feeling
lonely, rejected by his father, and disappointing his older brother.
She gave him a second
chance and embraced him for who he was. The silver fox was unpredictable,
complex, magnetic. He commanded the crowd’s reaction and people always held
their breath whenever he entered a room. King of the Night, he saw droves of
people crawling towards him, begging for his good favor and endorsement for it
guaranteed their success and a good business. How could one feel when they hold
so much power in the Night Life? Truth be told, the Dragon Prince didn’t
care much about it. He felt empty and had always felt this way. Countless
nights spent drinking, using drugs, fucking any girl who threw themselves at
him did not fill the void he had in his heart.
Until Kyra…
His first instincts were
to protect her when he felt she was threatened, and by doing so he could have
killed a man. Nobody made him feel the way Kyra did. The desire to find her,
the need for her company were overwhelming. He wanted to see her face, touch
her skin, kiss her lips and hold her tight. He wanted to make her happy. This was
a first, perhaps the only time he would actually fall in love with someone and
that was confusing as all hell. He didn’t know how to process those émotions and
found out that they were huge, a true whirlwind of émotions that he didn’t know
how to handle. He fell in love with the Lannister youngest child. He was so
smitten over the blonde beauty that he couldn’t imagine his life without her.
All those months spent apart after the events of Dornes nearly drove him insane
with the excruciating pain he felt. How he had missed her. How he had regretted
his violent outburst! How he wanted her back.
And she was back…And here
they were together. Here they were in her apartment, enjoying their time together
and rekindling their connection. It felt so good. It felt so right to be with her
that he didn’t want to let her go again. He did it once and paid the price, and
now, more than ever he wanted to prevent it from happening again. He couldn’t
afford to lose Kyra again and as he held her tighter against his broad chest,
he leaned his chin on top of her head and gently stroked her arms. She was a breath of fresh air, his everything. His everything!
