If looks could kill, Elpis would have killed thousands. Elpis was known to have a temper and to punish those who slighted her. She was known for destroying the Sumerian pantheon for they disrespected her father. It occurred only once, but it was brutal enough for the tale to be told and for gods to see Elpis for who she was. A powerful being who demanded respect, a force to reckon with.
Pride knew it and realized that she had untapped potential, a power that went beyond the realms of what he knew, and a fiery temper to go with it. She stood up to him, after all, the old version of Pride. She stood up to him, taking the risk of being obliterated by the god-killer's essence. It amazed him back then, but it aroused him now. When Elpis was looking at someone this way, a carnage was promised to Pride. When she looked at others this way, death would follow.
