Pride rewarded loyalty. He knew how to ensure devotion from his followers and minions. He made efforts, the kind that never really cost him anything like Indulging in human food when the goddess wanted to eat some or staying on Earth while he would be lightyears away from mortals. He pleased them the way he saw fit, making them
Come back for more, making them hope and pray and wish for his attention. Elpis was wrapped around his fingers, in a way or another. He knew she was loyal when she chose him over a quieter and danger -free life. And he rewarded her, even as a newly made SIN, with her freedom.
Elpis rewarded determination. She rewarded the old version of her beloved when he swore to her that he would become more than a god. He told her of his plans and she witnessed his success as soon as she was free. She saw how hard he tried to save her host instead of killing her. She saw how eager he was about flipping the coin on the remaining gods and heard of his glorious plan to slaughter her traitorous brothers.
She saw him wear his beautiful armour, all dark and sparky, and sucking the soul of anyone looking st him. She saw his ever growing power, how consuming of everything around it, it was. She saw it and it made her weak in the knee.
Her heart shook and beat faster because of him. It made it difficult for her to breathe when entered a room and even more to resist the urge to reward him.
