Brutal honesty:
Nëela has decided it was best for her not to lie. Whenever she lies or when she is going through a lot of negative emotions, her curse activates and the pain is excruciating. Somehow, this allows her to speak her heart and be honest, even if it causes issues with the person she talks to.
She would never lie to Klaus, let alone to the Mikaelsons or her close acquaintances. It's best for her (first) and it also allows her not to resent others or allow for any negative emotion to fester in her heart.
