Headcanon: Soldier Boy and the Boys
Sara followed the whole Soldier Boy debacle on TV and was terrified of accidentally meeting that nutjob. She only went with what the media said but it was enough to scare her to death.
At some point she started to read on social media about the Boys and how much of a terrorist group they were and how much Butcher hated supers and wanted to eradicate them. Ultimately, Sara is convinced Butcher would not rest until all the supers are dead and she wants to protect herself from him.
Sara wondered what could happen if she had no superpowers? They were part of her and she would not know how to live her life if she lost them. She'd rather die than be depowered.
