Doya: Old friends

 "Old friends."

Joshua and Sarah adjusted to his new situation rather easily. He might have been disabled, he still was alive and was still able to help from the confines of his chair. His fiancée Stephanie learned how to defend herself from potential monsters -despite his semi-retirement from the hunting business, monsters didn't retire. his fiancée had to learn how to protect herself and them if needed-. He also managed to recover enough to be able to take care of himself on his own for most of his daily needs. Stephanie insisted to help bath him and the two of them grew closer by taking baths together. Things worked out. Sarah seemed to be doing fine too. She embraced the situation because, for her, it was better to have a disabled brother than a dead one.

It was a close call, one that confirmed a couple truths to the two of them. It was necessary for Sarah to train her husband and teach him how to protect their family. Regardless of how peaceful their lives had been lately, she couldn't possibly keep her family dependent on her skills. The kids were also taught the basics, they were old enough to speak and understand and were responding well to the first safety measures they had to take (mostly how to hide well and not make noise when mommy and daddy were fighting). The second thing Sarah was certain of was Oya's friendship.

Oya was a childhood friend who became family real quick. It didn't take long for the three of them to consider each other like siblings. Especially not since the death of their father. Oya had always been close to them even after the funerals of their father. She'd always make sure they had what they needed and always visited when she could. Sure, her little stunt in America was a mishap -Oya had found the Asanbosam there and was hunting the beast. She met with the Winchesters and it took a year or so before she reached out to Thomas'- It didn't mean that Oya didn't love them, all the opposite actually.

Oya gave up everything to investigate the creature that attacked and mauled Josh. She found it and destroyed it. She didn't have to, she had to deal with another threat, yet she gave it all up to either save Joshua or avenge him. Wasn't it a testament of love? Besides, she did confide in Sarah about her feelings for Dean and the fear she felt about losing him. Oya was very private, but she trusted Sarah and the blonde hunter was thankful for this trust and love. Now that their lives were quiet and good, she wanted to help Oya and their current threat. Joshua informed her about Pluto and the confession of the ebony hunter about her encounter with the god. Sarah decided that it was time she investigated as well to help Team Free Will and Oya. It wasn't because they owed her, it was because she was family. Their Family."
