Headcanon: Carefree
Sara usually is on guard 24/7. She has to be because she wants to protect herself from harm. She had been through a lot of violence and picked herself up ever since she was a little girl. She loosen up when she's with her partners. It's the only time she can actually be silly, laugh, be vulnerable with someone but it comes with a price. The person she considers a partner can take advantage of her. Before she started to "date" Homelander, they all took advantage of her insecurities and candor. Her past relationships ended so badly that she decided to stay single. She wanted to remain single and be the only one to care for her own needs until Homelander crashed at her place and changed that resolve. Sara is slowly opening up to him, allowing herself to be a bit silly.
