Modern JB: Highgarden starry night

Modern JB: Highgarden starry night

// I absolutely adore these two. In any universe, we write them in. <3

Somewhere at Highgarden, Bronn's real estate

Daenerys Targaryen was a cunning woman, known as the Dragon Queen in this business world full of sharks, she was respected and even feared by some. Ruthless and relentless, she would not hesitate to use whatever she could to tip the balance to her favor. Highgarden was the richest land of Westeros. They were the equivalent of the Heartland of America because their lands were dedicated to Agriculture and Breeding. Most recently and in order to attract investors, the current owner of the land, Bronn decided to sell strategically placed pieces of land to the highest bidder. Those lands, in retrospect, weren't going to become a threat to Highgarden, but they were important enough to at least attract potential investors.

Most were interested only for the fame they would get from owning a piece of Highgarden, most, but not Tywin Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen. Both of them saw the potential it had and they wanted to own all the lands sold by Bronn. That was where negotiations started because Bronn didn't want the richest families to own all those lands, but they both were offering insane amounts of money, which seemed to be convincing enough for him to have publicly announced, he had narrowed down his bidders' list to the two families.

Entered Bäahal in the equation. It turned out -Thanks to Varys, the family's long-time friend and spy- that Bronn was infatuated with Bäahal and was more inclined to sign the contract in favor of Daenerys should her sister spend a few days at his real estate. Without even blinking, The Dragon Queen took Bäahal with her and they both spent a few days with Bronn. It wasn't unpleasant, for Bronn was funny and fun to be around. He knew the heiress wasn't interested in him but it didn't stop him from courting her and trying to impress her. He loved how exotic she looked to him. Her long and soft silver hair crowned a face out of this world.

Her high cheekbones -typical for all Targaryens-, her plump soft lips, her intense purple eyes were forcing him on his knees. Her curves were to die for -and so were Dany's-, and the fact she was a professional dancer only shaped her body even better. Toned thick creamy legs, a flat and toned belly, soft and firm breasts she always glamourized with extra-cleavage and a plump ass he always ogled whenever she walked past him. She was exactly what he was looking for. While most would try and avoid her because of her foul mouth and her tendency to be brutally honest and give the most epic reads, Bronn was attracted to her because of this. She was crass AND prim and proper at the same time.

Bäahal truly didn't care, although she was clearly aware that her sister was basically pimping her out. It didn't matter because she didn't have to do much but stay here and smile all day, laugh, and just be herself -Bronn insisted on that part-. He would serenade her from time to time and that was it. It was funny to her because while her body was at Highgarden, her mind was back at Jaime's secret lair – as she called it-. Her mind was back to him, to them being together in the secrecy of his second house.

She looked at Bronn playing guitar and was daydreaming about Jaime's massaging her calves and feet. She was watching him try to impress her with his knowledge and fun trivia and was thinking of Jaime's laughter as he was cooking something for her and she was teasing him about his favorite sports team.

His secret lair felt more and more homely as she went there and left a thing or two each time. Some underwear, her toothbrush, a few clothes so she wouldn't have to bring a bag each time she visited him. It felt homely because he was there with her and he was taking care of her. This house, Bronn's house felt empty in comparison. There were Daenerys alongside her but that didn't make it homely at all. It was cold. Her sister's violet eyes were cold and commanding as she wished Bäahal behaved well during those few days with their host. She wanted to sign that bloody contract and didn't want her sister to mess things up. As the fresh breeze of the night blew over her frame, the youngest heiress of the Targaryen's family wrapped her bathrobe around her frame tighter and leaned at her balcony as she watched the starry night. What was Jaime doing this late? She imagined he was probably having a board meeting, one of those boring duties a CEO had to attend. She imagined he was going through a lot of various thoughts while being held « captive » of his business meeting. She knew the first time she sent him a pic, he was actually having a meeting and wasn't focused for the rest of the day. She did promise him a picture of her legs and any other saucy type of pictures should she feel like it and tonight felt like the best moment to take her phone and send him a text.

As a matter of fact, she was missing the blonde Lannister. She wanted to fly back to King's Landing and spend time with him again, but her duties had to be her priority so she simply quickly took the phone from the pocket of her bathrobe and started to type a text to Jaime [To Golden Lion: Well, turns out I'm the first to text you after a while. I just wanted you to know that I was missing you. I'm at Highgarden, enjoying a fancy castle and a fancy dinner to come but all I am thinking of is you, my Golden Lion. So, in order to share the frustration, please find below a little memory of Highgarden.] and she sent it to him and quickly opened her bathrobe, revealing a white corset, some white pantyhose, and white laced underwear. It complimented well her silver hair and her dark complexion and she knew it would elicit a reaction from him. She then put the phone away and focused on getting dressed for dinner that night. It was the last day of their stay at Highgarden and Daenerys had placed her Hope into this day. Bronn had been satisfied with what he had with Bäahal there was no way he wouldn't sign. Wasn't it?

DOYA: You good?

DOYA: You good?

A/N: I have been missing these two lately.

Xxxxx

Oya slipped out of the bed early in the morning and went to the kitchen to fix herself some coffee. Her eyes were slightly red from the lack of sleep and she rubbed them with the back of her hand. Yawning hard, the ebony hunter sat on the kitchen's stool and closed her eyes for a minute. She heard footsteps and quickly grabbed her spoon, just in case it was an unexpected guest. When she saw the tall frame of Dean, a smile crept on her lips and she relaxed instantly. He fixed himself a cup of coffee and growled as he walked to the seat across the table.

«Mornin' Bitch. »

« Mornin' Dickhead. » -She growled back. Her eyes still half-closed as she was still fighting the urge to sleep.- « I'm sorry if I woke you up. » She groaned as she tapped her fingers against the kitchen's counter before her, as her thoughts were still bothering the ebony hunter.

« Don't sweat it, You good ?. »

They both had a very short sleep. Pluto had been at the center of their minds ever since both encountered him, Oya and Dean had been searching for ways to destroy the god but had never taken a minute to sit down and talk. Both were so desperate to find him and get rid of him for good that the idea of sitting down and talk about how they were doing didn't even cross their minds. How were they? They both believed they were doing good, all things considered, but the truth was they weren't okay. Oya still had issues with her near-death and the desire to search, find, and destroy the deity was overwhelming. He would have killed her if Dean hadn't sent Castiel to her and it was dumb luck that kept her alive. The encounter was quick, brutal and the god's sadism marked the hunter to the bone. Just the mention of him was enough to make Oya shake and shiver. It was enough to give her more intense nightmares and shorten her nights. Dean, on the other hand, wasn't much better. Pluto was the son of the bitch who nearly killed his partner and no matter how weak compared to the god, the Winchester was, there was nothing that would come between him and Pluto. He wanted to be the one to kill the bastard, make him pay for almost taking Oya from him, but also to make sure he wouldn't hurt innocent people as well.

« Good? » -She lifted a brow.- « I wouldn't exactly say we're good... »

She trailed off before she took a sip of her coffee. She didn't respond to his direct question. The truth was that she was terrified as of now. Part of her was so desperate to find and kill Pluto -for revenge's sake- and another part of her had not recovered from the fact she nearly died because of him.

« We're doing what we can with what we have. » He ran his hand on her smooth thigh and drank some coffee. « We're not fine, I know. »

« Yeah.. Part of me wants to find Pluto and kill him... but I can't ignore that other part of me. The one that is afraid. » She finally admitted, rolling her eyes as those words escaped her lips. Oya hated being weak, she didn't like to admit she was afraid or would rather run away from a fight. Pluto wasn't an ordinary god, he was far stronger than the others. If he were, she would have been able to defeat him on their first encounter, but she wasn't and her body still remembered. Dean took another sip and grabbed her hand. Oya looked at their hands, locked with each other, and gave him a sheepish smile. « We don't know what we're up against...yet. » She said, holding onto his hand, tighter.

« He is powerful, maybe far more powerful than the gods I encountered. Yes, that much is true. But we'll figure things out, O. We'll do it together like we've always done. I wised up over the years, I won't go after him on my own /and/ without prep time. We need to be ready because we won't have more than 1 shot to end him. » -He stroked the back of her hand, making her smile a little through the constipated smirk she gave him.-

« Together... As always. » She repeated before she put her mug on the counter and put her hand over his. « Honestly, if Castiel had not been there, I would have been dead by now...that's just how good he is. » She said, rolling her head from left to right before she pushed it against his forehead. « I was terrified that night. » She started with.

« I know...» -He couldn't say more.-

He couldn't tell her how devastated he felt when she called him, moments away from death and how powerless that made him feel to know he couldn't go to her fast enough. Castiel could and used some of his remaining powers to teleport to her location and heal her. For Dean, however, this was a nightmare he couldn't wake up from. His mind went blank on that day, only filled with silent prayers for her recovery. He didn't want to lose her, so he prayed for her, yes, that happened. He refused to rest until Castiel confirmed that she was going to survive and even after Oya was saved, he didn't rest until he was able to see her again. Oya didn't need him to verbalize it since she could tell how he felt by the tone of his voice. It broke at the end, and his throat became tighter, his eyes were more intense as he was staring at her. He had been shaken up, at the very least, by what happened to her and what Pluto did. Oya was a badass hunter, If she was defeated, that could only mean that her opponent was way stronger than her.

« We will find his weakness and kill him.... we will, together, as always. » -She reassured him, holding onto his hand a little more so he could feel her support. Dean sighed and stood up so he could wrap his arms around her petite frame. He felt her arms wrap around his waist to keep him close and he placed a kiss on top of her head.

« Yeah,,, » He repeated, letting her know that he was determined to hunt the god with her.

It was a job they were supposed to do together, something they would overcome together. They had already been there, losing someone, almost losing someone. Dean went to Hell and back to get Sam back and vice-verça. They had been possessed by angels, healed by them, survived miraculously death when they should have not. They went up against the impossible and always gambled their lives. They always fought together, or with Team Free Will. They always won together and they would win against Pluto, no matter what, because they were together.

MODERN !Jaime and Bäahal : Chemistry

MODERN!Jaime and Bäahal: Chemistry

You are pure poetry. The sharp lines of your cheeks, the light stubble on your cheeks, and that devastating smile are driving towards the edge. I remember the strong body, maintained by regular workouts. The broad chest I love to nestle against, the strong arms that could lift my body with ease, the way your body is chiseled by the gods, gracing my very eyes every time I look at you. I remember the sin between your legs, your magic wand that makes me curse under my breath and hits all the sweet spots in me. I remember this. The taste of it, the scent of it, the weight of it just as I remember that gorgeous ass of yours. I guess that you're unforgettable. I love that you are. I remember you telling me that you couldn't take your eyes off of me when we first met, that every time you looked away, you made sure to find me again. I was flattered back then, but now I see how your magic is working. You're relentless and the memory of you creeps into my mind when I least expect it, sending me shivers down my spine. I guess that's chemistry.

You're electric. I remember the shivers that went down my spine the first night we danced together. My skin was covered with goosebumps as our bodies were rocking to the faint (yet distinct) music playing at the club. There was nothing else that mattered but you at this moment. There was nothing else but your breath against my skin, your voice in my ear, and the rhythm our hips were following. Oh, Jaime! Jaime... It felt so right to be by your side at this moment. It felt so right to be by your side right now, in our little nest. Well, technically your secret lair but since it's « our time », then when I'm here, it becomes « our nest ». I love it there when we have nothing but ourselves and we don't need to worry about the paparazzi and our families. It's just you and me, Jaime and Bäahal, the Golden Lion, and the Firecracker. It's just us. I feared for a little while, that maybe after the club you'd get bored of me. After all, you got the Targaryen's magic cunt, so why would you ever want to try it again? Yet, here we are, talking, laughing, teasing each other, and having a good time. Here we are, unable not to touch the other, not to kiss the other, not to be together. I still have those shivers running down my spine whenever you talk to me. I still have those shivers whenever you touch me. I guess that's chemistry.

You are pure joy. I remember when we hit it off from the start at the club. The banter was on point, the joy of having someone I can talk to overcame the rest. You, Jaime, you make me laugh, you make me anticipate the day after, you make me wait for you. I spent a whole week after our stint at the club, a whole week thinking of you in many ways. I do want to fuck you, but there's more to it than just sex, there's also the need to connect, to feel the joy I felt when we were talking and boy are you delivering right now. Life feels better when I'm with you. I feel invincible, I feel that I can't be hurt and that I can trust you. It's hard for me to trust, and I had tried not to over the years but you? You..; I trust you and I feel good about it... It's the same feeling I have when I dance, the same one I feel when my dogs comfort me, the same one I have when we kiss. I know I wanted to be careful, but to hell with that, to hell with fear, I feel good with you. It's all that matters. I am eager to read your texts, eager to make you laugh, eager to spend time with you. Call it cheesy, I call it chemistry.

modern! GOT Dany x Bäahal : Do you love him ?

Modern! Dany x Bäahal: Do you love him?

A/N: The aftermath of the interview

As soon as the interviewer and her crew left, it started to heavily rain on the Targaryen's palace. Bäahal sighed heavily and yanked her head back. She let her fingers run on her temple to massage them. Daenerys gently ran her hand over her dress and casually said without even looking at her sister.

« You hesitated when she asked you the question. Is there something new I have to know? »

« Do you sometimes listen to yourself, dear sister? What does your question even mean? »

« Are you seeing someone? » She kept asking, while she ran her hand over the folds of her dress. Dany furrowed her brows, visibly pissed that her dress refused to cooperate and that she might have had bad pictures of her about to be released to the press. Yet, her tone was cut and dry, with a hint of danger lingering on her voice. Bäahal shrugged and shook her head.

« Why would I be? You already control everything, Dany... you already disapprove of me. Why would I take the risk and add more issues between the two of us? » She sneered while staring at the ceiling.

« Why do you have to always be so difficult? I asked you a question, I demand an answer. Yes, or no? » She said, taking her « mothering » tone Bäahal hated so much. The youngster straightened on her seat and looked at her sister, her eyes burning with anger as she hated the way she was being talked to.

« Let's say for a moment that I would entertain the idea of seeing someone, which I am not. I am busy being a socialite since I can't do much without your approval. Let's say, I am seeing someone, then what? Is it going to be like with Elias all over again? Are you going to question me about him? Demand that you meet him before we can go any further? »

« I had to take care of you. » She coldly said. « You are a reckless little thing, Bäahal, and so full of energy and dreams like a puppy. This world isn't Disneyworld. This world will eat you like sharks eat anything that bleeds nearby. I warned you from the very beginning that Elias wasn't good for you. I told you clearly that he would break your heart and what did you do? Did you listen? »

« You said he wasn't good enough because he was a Dornish heir! You said he wasn't good enough because he didn't look 'elite'! He wasn't a Targaryen and just for this, you wouldn't have accepted him. Just like you never accepted me. »

« Don't ! » Daenerys breathed her last word and gave a head sign to the bodyguards, so they would leave the two women in the room alone.

« You've never accepted me because I'm a bastard! Dany, own your shit for once! Admit you hate my guts and move on! » She said, her eyes slowly filling themselves with unshed tears.

« What did I say? You're a reckless little thing. » Daenerys said, standing up to meet ¨Bäahal who had also stood up. «  Yes, I told you that Elias wasn't worthy of your Targaryen's blood but you were happy. Didn't I let you two pursue that romance? » She took Bäahal aback and had her shift her eyes from left to right. Yes, she did. Once Dany got over the fact he was Dornish, she allowed the two of them to have a romance. « Don't you remember what I asked you on that day? I asked you if you loved him. What did you say? »

« I said I did. I loved him with my whole heart. » Her voice shook and she put her hands on her waist. Dany then walked towards her sister and tilted her head to the side. « And you said... you said that I had to be careful and take full responsibility when he breaks my heart. » which was also true.

« I said that, yes. I foresaw his betrayal years ago. I knew he wouldn't have what it takes to love such a fiery soul as yours. He wouldn't look back after what he did and he would stomp your heart to your feet. Didn't I warn you? »

Bäahal started to suffocate in that room. It was becoming more and more difficult for her to breathe since she felt oppressed by the air and by Daenerys who reminded her of the worst moment of her life -that had nothing to do with the death of a parent-. Her heart started to beat faster and harder against her ribcage, forcing Bäahal to try and find an escape so she could puke her emotions. Daenerys did her best to hide the smirk that crept on her lips as she saw her sister lose her composure. She knew that what she was about to say was unjust and cruel, it was a complete lie given how things truly unfolded between Elias and Bäahal.

« Little sister...It is in your best interest not to hide a romance from me ever again. I am here to guide you, help you through the moving sands that love is. I can help you see the truth in the people you entrust your heart with. Elias shattered that heart of yours, so it is my duty to protect what's left and make sure that you don't suffer the same way. »

it was pure gaslighting. It was too much for Bäahal to deal with and she stormed out of the room, removed her shoes she held in her hands, and ran into the woods near the palace. There, as the rain started to heavily fall, soaking her to the bone, the heiress threw her shoes against a tree, removed her bun, and let her silver locks cascade onto her shoulders and back. She held her hair and screamed and sobbed as hard as the rain allowed her to cry. Her heart was hurting now, and it was making her so upset to be this hurt when just a moment ago, she was feeling so good about herself and about Jaime. Maybe Dany was right, maybe she shouldn't even try to form a connection with the Golden Lion, not because he would hurt her, but she might give him yet another reason to leave. Elias dumped her out of the blue, after promising her that he was the happiest man alive. Maybe Jaime would do the very same. Yet, yet deep down she would never leave him or stop seeing him. He wasn't like the others. He wasn't like Elias.

Daenerys smirked a little as she quietly walked outside of the room. She knew that her sister would behave and wouldn't have a clue as to why Elias left her. Dany bought him, plain and simple. She gave him enough money so he could start his business without his father's blessing and that was enough to make him leave a woman he supposedly loved. Without a word, without a text, without even a phone call. He just disappeared. It only was months later, when Bäahal finally reached out to him that he texted her back. « We're done. Stop looking for me. I found better. » how could she trust again after this? How could he love again after this? And yet, her heart was still capable of loving and was about to move on from Elias. There was no love left, and the pain hurt less and wouldn't have hurt that much if Dany hadn't said a word. Fucking hell!

Modern ! GOT Bäahal : Letter to my brother: « Where did we go wrong ? »

Modern! Bäahal : Letter to my brother: « Where did we go wrong ? »

Viserys, I have to know. I have to know why you treat me like this? What did I ever do to you to make you hate my guts? Is it going to be just like with your mother? Are you going to deny my very existence until one of us dies? I am your blood, whether you like it or not. I am /your/ blood. I never asked to be born, I never asked our father to cheat on your mother with mine. I never asked for any of this to happen. Why do you blame me for what happened to your family? Can't you try and give me a chance like Rhaegar did? He saw past the circumstances of my conception, he saw past the fact I had our father's eyes and hair. He decided to get to know me and we got along so well. Why did we go wrong you and I? Where did we go wrong, Viserys?

I know, I know, you're insane. That's what the public thinks of you and that's what our family thinks of you too. They consider you're the black sheep, the one that should be shunned from all public events since you bring shame to the family. Yet, they accept to pay for your rehabs and therapies you never attend. Yet, they accept to bail you out and pay for a top-lawyer service should you get in legal trouble. Yet, they still consider you family. I am not even given that privilege. I am nothing but a stranger to their very eyes when I have the blood of our father rushing through my veins. I am the Dragon King's daughter! Whether you want it or not! So why? Why are you so vile?

I am scared of you Vis, so scared that I'd rather not cross paths with you. When we were younger, do you remember beating me? I vividly do. Every punch, every kick, every broken rib and black eye you gave me. I remember you beat me so hard that even your mother had to intervene so you didn't kill me. She could accept and excuse violence, but would never want any of her precious children to become murderers, remember? I saw the face you had on that day, the crooked and twisted smirk of yours, relishing in my blood and the painful cries I released. I still recoil in fear of you losing your mind and rushing into my room like last time to beat me up. All in the name of what? Infidelity? Didn't our father love you until his last breath? Didn't he love all of us? He loved your mother, but he fell in love with mine. I guess that's life, isn't it? He just wanted to make sure that all of his children could have a decent life. I didn't ask for more than to have a family, I welcomed you, and embraced you and what did I get in return? Scorn, distance, pain... I can't even bring myself to hate you, I am heartbroken..; that's it...I am heartbroken.

COPG: « The empress without a crown »

Elpis x Pride: « The empress without a crown »

A/N: a little nod to « the king without a crown » I wrote two years ago.

XXXX

She was his queen. The sin claimed so. A year after the goddess was set free from her curse, Pride took the time to get to know her. His memories of her, which meant nothing to him at the time they had returned, were replaced by fresh ones. The goddess did mature over the millennia. She wasn't the oblivious gorgeous little creature his older/other-self met 2000 years ago. From a princess kept in a golden cage by her siblings, she became the Phoenix, reborn from the ashes of her ancient life.

He loved her darker side, the tendencies she had to appreciate violence and a blood bath. He loved how eager she was to help him achieve his goals and become his true partner rather than a glorified prize. He loved to see how twisted her mind could be when she was angry. Yes, her thirst for revenge, her desire to make her enemies suffer resulted in her talking creatively about what she wanted to do. He loved her resilience and the raw power rushing through her veins.

As a matter of fact, while annoyed at mankind, he also respected her love for them. He appreciated seeing her try and protect them even if that meant going against him. She had ambition, she had her own motivations and she was her own person. She was the crowned jewel of the primeval gods' pantheon, the one they tried to keep locked in her gilded cage, unaware of her true potential. It became clear, however, that the more she stayed on Earth and grew in strength, the more she could claim the All-mother title for herself. She expressed that desire already, condemning her mother for not having protected her, her fallen siblings, and even her father, and instead chose cowardice as a solution. Elpis, the All-Mother? The amount of power would be insane, and would further boost him in his attempt at conquering the universe. That idea crossed his mind and he imagined her, sitting on a throne, her crown of light on top of her head.

Here she was his empress without a crown, only waiting for the good moment to seize power for herself. Here she was, his Light, at her best, once she'd recover fully from the curse and could operate. Here she was, smiling at him, embracing him with her pure and warm light, showing him just how powerful she really was. Here she was, loving him, and while he had a better understanding of what love was, and expected no less from the goddess, he was still pleasantly surprised to see that she kept choosing him, over the million different options she had before her. She still chose this difficult path to freedom and domination, she still chose to walk in the dark, only holding his hand as sole guide and guarantee of her survival. She chose him. Before, now, and he knew she would always.

DOYA: Lost without you

Doya: Lost without you

I love those moments of silence when there's nothing but the steady sound of our breathing and the quiet pace of our heartbeats. I love it when you hold me, with your chin resting on top of my head and your arms wrapped around my back. I love it most when we can fall asleep in each other's arms. I cherish those moments Dean, when peace finally, enters my soul and I can stop and breathe. We've said it several times already, our job is ungrateful and Death certainly awaits for both of us to come to greet them. I could be gone tomorrow, or you could get killed for all I know... our lives are short-lived, always hanging in the balance. However, I am now enjoying mine to the fullest, mostly because I know you're in this life, riding with me.

Sarah used to ask me, a lifetime ago if I was happy with you. She was convinced that the white-picket-fences life she chose would suit me. The American pie type of life, married with kids and pets in a home with white picket fences. I always told her that I was fine with the life I was leading with you. You are my apple pie, this life is my apple pie. Hunting monster, saving people that's our family motto. I guess after five years I am legitimate to consider myself a Winchester too, right? Maybe I'm not vocal enough, but I appreciated you coming to me when I was feeling blue. I was so distraught about forgetting my father's voice but you found a way to comfort me, as you always do. Dean, do you know how much I appreciate this?

I sincerely think I would be lost without you. How could I go on with my life, after I met you, Dean Winchester? How could I ever want to let someone else into my heart? The thought crossed my mind just a minute ago, and for a minute, I saw things with a clarity I never had before. Truth is, it had been a long time already since I decided to leave my bags at your door because I chose you to become my home. You are my home, my present, and my future Dean Winchester, and I hope, I pray, to have many years by your side and to have us live a satisfying life. I'm ready to go wherever you go until I die. Ah.. that's a cheesy line, but there again, I am cheesy...
